Description
Gem Horner, a cockerel Beastman, co-manages the Beastman Co-op alongside his wife, Melissa Horner. In human form, his fair skin contrasts with vibrant red disheveled hair swept left, a matching mustache and beard, and red-framed glasses. He dresses in a mustard-yellow v-neck sweater, green tie, crisp white collared shirt, blue-gray trousers, and brown loafers. Transforming into his Beastman form, he retains his glasses, shirt, and trousers but swaps his hair for a feathered comb, his beard for a wattle, and his feet for yellow chicken claws, sprouting a sharp yellow beak.

Renowned for his approachable nature, Gem warmly greets newcomers like Michiru Kagemori to Anima City, though his eagerness to assist sometimes leads to blunt remarks. He verifies Michiru’s Beastman identity with a test strip, then recommends a psychiatrist upon her denial of her nature—a misstep that deepens her distress. Undeterred, he offers her refuge and shares his self-authored picture book to recount Ginrou’s legacy.

Each dawn, Gem perches on rooftops, crowing with amplified volume to mark the day’s start. His work at the Co-op centers on guiding Beastmen through the challenges of Anima City life, embodying his dedication to fostering community resilience and belonging.
