Description
Raizo Fuwa is a fourteen-year-old fifth-year student at the Ninjutsu Academy, assigned to class 5-Ro and a member of the school's library committee. He is one of five fifth-year students at the academy, alongside Heisuke Kukuchi, Kan'emon Ohama, Saburo Hachiya, and Hachizaemon Takeya. In the anime, his hair is a bright brown, while in the original manga it is black.
The author of the series has explained that Raizo was conceived from the start as a character with a habit of hesitation, and that his name is derived from the idiom "fuwa raidō," which means to follow others blindly or to agree without independent judgment. He was also intended to be an excellent, model upperclassman. True to that design, Raizo is gentle, kind, and considerate, and he takes genuine care of the younger students, who regard him as a warm and approachable senpai.
