Description
Lancelot is a central figure in the story of Four Knights of the Apocalypse, serving as the Knight of War among the four prophesied calamity-bringers. Born as the only son of Ban, the Fox Sin of Greed, and Elaine, the former Fairy Queen, he is a hybrid of human and fairy lineage. This mixed heritage grants him a unique set of abilities but also leaves him unable to fly naturally like full-blooded fairies. As a child, he lived with his parents for a time, but he disappeared at around ten years old, eventually taking on the guise of a small pink talking fox named Sin. Under that disguise, he secretly accompanied the young protagonist Percival on his journey, observing and protecting him while concealing his true identity until the right moment. After revealing himself, Lancelot openly assumes his role as a Holy Knight of the Kingdom of Liones and one of the Four Knights.

In personality, Lancelot appears calm, cool, and composed, often giving off a refined and slightly aloof impression. However, he harbors a deep-seated warmth and loyalty toward his comrades, willing to go to great lengths to safeguard them. He displays a sharp wit and a mischievous streak, especially when playing the part of Sin. Beneath his gentle exterior, he possesses a ruthless and merciless side when confronting enemies, a trait he inherited from his father, Ban. His primary motivation is to prove himself and gain the recognition of his father, whom he greatly admires. He also holds the Seven Deadly Sins in high esteem and seeks to live up to their legacy. Another driving force is his desire to protect the world from the machinations of Arthur Pendragon and the kingdom of Camelot.

Lancelot’s relationships are central to his development. He shares a deep bond with Percival, acting as a mentor and protector despite their occasional playful rivalry. He is also close friends with Tristan Liones, son of Meliodas and Elizabeth; the two have known each other since childhood, and a friendly scuffle during Tristan’s tenth birthday left Lancelot with a distinctive scar on his forehead. This incident did not damage their bond; instead, Tristan and Lancelot later work together in the film The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh, where Lancelot pushes Tristan to unlock his full potential. He also interacts with Gawain and Nasiens as fellow knights. His connection to his parents is complex: he adores his mother Elaine and inherited her delicate features, often leading to him being mistaken for a girl, but he longs for his father Ban’s approval, a goal that drives much of his growth.

Over the course of the story, Lancelot matures from a precocious and secretive child into a confident and powerful warrior. He learns to trust his companions fully and to rely on his own strength rather than hiding behind disguises. His rivalry with Arthur forces him to confront the limits of his power and pushes him to refine his techniques.

Lancelot’s abilities are formidable and versatile. His magical power is immense, so much so that ordinary weapons shatter when imbued with it; consequently, he favors a bow and arrows, which can be easily replaced. His signature technique is Shining Road, a devastating beam of light fired from his weapon that relentlessly pursues and annihilates opponents. As a fairy hybrid, he is naturally adept at reading the minds, thoughts, and memories of others. He also possesses shape-shifting capabilities surpassing those of pure-blooded fairies, allowing him to transform into a small pink fox, a larger fairy form resembling his uncle King, or any creature he chooses, including winged forms for flight. Physically, he possesses incredible strength and speed; even as a child he could kill a powerful Holy Knight with a single one-inch punch, and his reflexes outmatch foes enhanced by magic such as Haste. He also displayed the ability to copy the techniques of others, as noted in some descriptions. His combat prowess is such that he forced Arthur Pendragon to fully unleash the power of Chaos, a feat no other Knight of the Apocalypse has matched. Later in the story, he acquires a special weapon called Shirojika, which can withstand his magic, and he further empowers it by absorbing magical energy from the Four Evils and a forbidden spell.
