Description
Ioradio Velviger is a character from the Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse series. She is a Demon who disguises herself as a human woman, first encountered in the town of Wolnack.
In her human form, Ioradio appears as a beautiful woman with a voluptuous and curvaceous figure, characterized by long beige hair with a distinct pink streak and lilac eyes. Her true demonic form is starkly different, featuring large bulges on her head that cover her eyes, small wing-like protrusions, dark spots on her chest and waist, and long, branching arms. A notable consequence of her transformation is that her clothes are always torn apart whenever she reverts to her demonic form.
Ioradio has a mischievous and utterly shameless personality, displaying no discomfort with nudity in front of others, a trait that may stem from her species being unaccustomed to wearing clothes. Despite this, she holds a deep care for her companions and is willing to do anything to ensure their safety.
Her motivations are rooted in a desperate situation. She was sent by Arthur Pendragon to eliminate the Four Knights of the Apocalypse. However, she is not a willing servant; she and her comrades have been brainwashed by Arthur and face execution by him if they fail. Her true goal in attacking Tristan is not merely to kill him but to test the strength of the Four Knights. She hopes they are powerful enough to pose a genuine threat to King Arthur, as she sees their victory as the only chance to free herself and her brainwashed allies from his control.
In the story, Ioradio plays the role of an antagonist-turned-ally. She initially uses her unique power, Jamming, to nullify all magical detection within Wolnack, isolating Tristan from his allies before confronting him in her demon form. After a fight where she confirms his potential, she is spared. Subsequently, she becomes a guide for the group, providing crucial information and leading them to a hidden entrance to Camelot that lies within the Demon Realm.
Key relationships include her initial complex dynamic with Tristan Liones, whom she attacks but then places her hopes in. She is also notably familiar with Percival, expressing surprise that he does not remember how all the demons once appreciated him. Her bond with her own demon comrades, like one named Aboru, is strong, and her actions are heavily influenced by a desire to protect them from Arthur's control.
Throughout the Demon Realm arc, Ioradio demonstrates development as she fully commits to aiding the Four Knights despite the risks. She navigates the political dangers of the Demon Realm, revealing Tristan's heritage as the son of Meliodas to the other demons and advocating for the group, even when doing so puts her in a difficult position with her own kind.
Notable abilities include her transformation between human and demon forms, granting her flight in her demonic state using her wing-like bumps. She possesses considerable combat prowess, able to dodge Tristan's attacks and fight on par with him until he unleashes his full power. Her unique magical ability, Jamming, allows her to nullify any kind of magical detection over a specific area. In battle, she can also spit an elastic, adhesive substance that is resistant to fire and magic, which she uses to bind her opponents.
