Description
Kūro, also known as the Cautious, is a former assassin who once belonged to the covert guild known as the Black Obsidian Eye. Later, he establishes a cooperative relationship with the nation of Aureatia, offering his services as a spy and infiltrator. His background as a killer in the shadows shapes his approach to the world: he is a young man of serious and no-nonsense demeanor, wearing a calm, cool-headed expression that can be easily mistaken for apathy. He is introverted and speaks only when necessary, preferring silence and observation over unnecessary words.

Kūro’s motivations center on survival and fulfilling his assignments with maximum caution. He does not seek glory or fame; instead, he focuses on completing tasks with precision and minimal risk. In the story, he operates as a support agent, gathering intelligence and executing sensitive missions for Aureatia. He is not a frontline combatant but a careful operative who relies on his unique perceptual ability rather than brute force.

Kūro is accompanied by a small winged artificial human, a homunculus-like being that fits inside his coat. This creature is cheerful and innocent, acting as a scout and observer. It holds deep trust in Kūro and assists him by gathering information from a safe distance. Their relationship is one of mutual reliance, with the artificial being serving as his eyes in the sky.

A notable aspect of Kūro’s development is the gradual decline of his exceptional power. He once possessed a supernatural perception called the Heavenly Eye, which allowed him to see through a target’s five senses and recognize the exact moment of lethality. This ability, driven by intuition far beyond ordinary experience, would instinctively select the best possible course of action even without conscious reasoning. However, this power is now fading, adding urgency to his actions and forcing him to adapt.

Kūro’s most notable ability is the Heavenly Eye, a form of extrasensory perception that borders on precognition. With it, he could perceive the world through all possible senses at once, rendering any concealment or deception transparent. The accuracy of this ability once reached the level of future prediction, making him an exceptionally dangerous assassin. As the power wanes, Kūro must rely more on his trained instincts and the support of his winged companion.
