Description
Komugi Inukai, also known as Cure Wonderful, is a Papillon dog who gains the ability to take on a human form and transform into a Pretty Cure. She was originally Iroha Inukai’s beloved pet and was later adopted into the Inukai family. Her transformation is triggered by her strong desire to protect Iroha, which resonates with a mystical Mirror Stone. As a dog turned human, she is extremely energetic, affectionate, and loyal, traits typical of her breed. She is endlessly curious about the world and approaches new experiences with the same playful instincts she had as a dog, such as treating a soccer game like a game of fetch or needing to be taught how to use utensils properly. Her naivety and childlike enthusiasm sometimes make her seem younger than her human age, which is around fourteen. Komugi’s primary motivation is to stay by Iroha’s side and ensure her safety, and this bond drives her actions as a Precure. She also develops a strong sense of responsibility toward protecting other animals and the magical realm of Niko Garden. In the story, she serves as one of the main heroines, purifying corrupted creatures known as Garugaru and later confronting the wolf spirits known as the Gaou-tachi. Her most important relationship is with Iroha, her owner and closest friend; she constantly seeks Iroha’s affection and becomes distressed when they are separated. She forms a friendly but occasionally strained bond with Yuki Nekoyashiki, whose reserved personality contrasts with her own boundless energy, and she is also supportive of Iroha’s human friends, such as Satoru Toyama, and the other Cures. Over the course of her journey, Komugi grows from a simple, instinct-driven pet into a more aware and responsible hero, yet she retains her sincere, dog-like affection and straightforwardness. As Cure Wonderful, she possesses enhanced athleticism and agility, and her primary abilities involve purification techniques. She uses attacks such as Friend Liberale and Eternal Kizuna Shower to cleanse corrupted beings, and she can also generate defensive barriers like the Puni Puni Barrier. Her power is directly fueled by her love for Iroha and her desire to spread kindness, making her a gentle but determined fighter.
