Description
Koinu is the main protagonist of the anime Stick It Around Doggie!. He is an anthropomorphic dog who, at the start of the story, loses his job when his company goes bankrupt. Adrift and uncertain, he responds to a mysterious recruitment advertisement and is hired by the Dogness Company. His assignment is to paste dog‑themed stickers all over the city. Although he does not understand the purpose behind this task, he approaches it with the same serious-minded diligence he applied to his previous office work. He is described as a hard worker and a big eater, often shown with a hearty appetite. His personality is earnest and dedicated; he takes pride in doing his job thoroughly even when the work seems absurd. Over the course of the series, Koinu’s daily routine of pasting stickers gradually weaves him into the lives of the city’s other canine inhabitants. He forms a supportive bond with his supervisor, Dog‑senpai, who guides him through the nuances of the job. He also interacts with a wide range of characters, including a playful puppy named Chibiinu who loves stickers, a rough‑looking black dog, a maraca‑wielding eccentric dog, and a pet of his own named Pome. These encounters often lead to small, comedic adventures that highlight the quirky community around him. Koinu’s character development centers on his transition from aimlessness to a sense of purpose; he finds meaning in the mundane act of placing stickers and becomes content with his role, even as the larger mystery of the job lingers. His most notable traits are his unwavering work ethic and his ability to remain focused despite not grasping the big picture. The anime presents his journey as a gentle exploration of resilience, routine, and the unexpected connections that arise from simple, persistent actions.
