Description
Kôji Ward is the father of the Ward family trio in Nyaight of the Living Cat. He initially goes missing while searching for supplies in a mall alongside his two sons, Len and Masaki. Physically, he wears rounded glasses, sports a very long white beard, and dresses in a blue coat, a white shirt, gloves, and brown pants. His personality is loud and assertive, and he carries a smug, enthusiastic expression. He demonstrates notably fast reflexes, able to dodge an extremely agile cat and taunt it in the process. His primary motivation is protecting his sons, to the point of self-sacrifice: he slows down two attacking cats to buy Len and Masaki time to escape, but is infected during the encounter. His role in the story is that of a supportive and ultimately tragic parent whose actions highlight the dangers of the cat pandemic. His key relationships are with his sons, Len and Masaki, and the family works together before he is separated and lost. His development is brief but poignant, moving from a confident, capable survivor to a victim of the feline virus. His most notable ability is his unusual agility and reflexes, which he uses in his final stand.
