Description
Ikfes is a young man who begins his journey in Übel Blatt as a slave knight hailing from the Sword Mansion. Despite his youth and relatively limited experience in the broader world, his natural talent with a blade is exceptional, having been honed to the point where his swordsmanship ranks among the strongest within the entire empire. As a character, Ikfes is defined by a bold and audacious personality. He carries himself with a fearless, sometimes provocative demeanor, capable of making light of tense situations or issuing defiant challenges to those far more powerful than himself. This brash exterior, however, conceals a growing sense of compassion and an underlying kindness, which becomes more apparent as he matures and re-evaluates his understanding of honor and justice.

His background is marked by a profound and tragic fall from grace. He is the biological son of Kfer, a man who was once a loyal companion to the hero Ascheriit but was later branded one of the "Four Lances of Betrayal". Because of his father's alleged treason, Ikfes was stripped of his noble status, enslaved, and forced to serve under the very man who likely orchestrated the betrayal: the hero Glenn. This history fosters a deep internal conflict, as Ikfes initially despises the blood of his father flowing through his veins, believing him to be a traitor. His primary motivation shifts over time. Initially driven by a desire to earn glory, prove his superior skill, and potentially regain his title by defeating the "Hero Slayer" Köinzell, his goals evolve. After learning the truth about his father and Glenn's treachery, his motivation solidifies into a powerful hatred for Glenn, who not only betrayed Ascheriit but also robbed Ikfes of the chance to learn swordsmanship from his own father and the legendary master Ascheriit.

In the story, Ikfes serves as a major rival and a crucial mirror to the protagonist, Köinzell. He is introduced as an antagonist sent to eliminate a rebellion, which leads him to a decisive duel with Köinzell. Despite losing this first encounter, Ikfes survives and becomes obsessed with a rematch. His role transitions from a servant of the corrupt heroes to a more independent agent, aligning with the forces of Reberont and later forging his own path. His most important relationship is with Köinzell, who functions simultaneously as a rival, a mentor, and a living testament to the truth of the past. Through their duels, Köinzell inadvertently teaches Ikfes the advanced techniques necessary to reach his full potential. Another key relationship is with Glenn, his former master and the object of his vengeance. He also shares a significant, though posthumous, connection with his biological father Kfer, whose legacy he eventually comes to accept and embrace.

The character development of Ikfes is one of the most pronounced arcs in the series. He begins as an arrogant but talented youth serving a corrupt master. His repeated defeats at the hands of Köinzell do not break him but rather fuel his growth, forcing him to confront his own weaknesses and the lies of his upbringing. He evolves from a vengeful antagonist into a figure of empathy and honor. In a climactic second duel, he masters the Black Wings technique, a skill Köinzell recognized as essential for victory, and defeats his rival. However, instead of delivering a killing blow, he shows compassion by sparing Köinzell and offering him a hand. This act signifies his maturation into a true warrior. Ultimately, Ikfes is recognized as the successor to Ascheriit, inheriting the long-vacant title of Blatt Meister (Master of Swords). He later leads an elite unit known as the Black Wing Knights, dedicating himself to eradicating the remnants of the enemies and rebuilding his former master's legacy.

Regarding notable abilities, Ikfes is a prodigiously gifted swordsman. His skill is so great that Köinzell, a veteran warrior, admits he could not win without using the Black Wings technique. Through his battles, Ikfes demonstrates incredible adaptability and valor. His most significant ability is the eventual mastery of the Black Wings, the ultimate secret technique of a Blatt Meister, which he learns thanks to the guidance of Köinzell during their life-or-death duels. Upon achieving this mastery, he wields Ascheriit's legendary Fairy Ore Sword, a blade forged by the greatest swordsmith, symbolizing his rightful place as the successor to that legacy.
