Description
Hobin Yoo is the central figure of the story, a teenager whose life is defined by economic hardship and social persecution. He is a male high school student with black hair styled in a blunt bowl cut and brown eyes, and his stature is notably small and slim, especially in the early parts of his journey, making him an easy target. As the story progresses, his physique changes as a result of intense training, but he generally maintains an appearance that is more unassuming than imposing. He is often seen in his school uniform or simple, practical clothing.

Born into poverty, Hobin lost his father at a young age and is the sole support for his mother, who is hospitalized due to a serious illness, often specified as cancer. The weight of her medical bills and their living expenses forces him to mature quickly, taking on numerous part-time jobs just to scrape by. This desperate financial situation is the primary engine for his actions and decisions. Initially, he is a victim of brutal bullying at school, enduring humiliation from a popular NewTuber named Pakgo and his cameraman. This treatment has left him timid, introverted, and convinced that life is fundamentally unfair to him. Despite his quiet and peace-loving nature, he is not without a fierce sense of justice, but his overwhelming priority is survival and keeping his mother from worrying.

His entire life changes after an accidental altercation with his bully is live-streamed and goes viral. Seeing the substantial amount of money the video earned overnight, Hobin recognizes an opportunity to escape his financial desperation. He partners with his former tormentor and decides to create his own content under the channel name Viral Hit. The content of his new channel is fighting, a subject he knows nothing about. To prepare, he discovers and becomes a devout student of a mysterious online channel run by an instructor known as Ssamdak. Through obsessive self-study and application of these video lessons, Hobin learns to fight, often calling out the techniques he is using as he performs them.

In terms of personality, Hobin is a complex mix of cynical pragmatism and hidden warmth. His love for money is a defining trait; the sound of a donation notification can literally reinvigorate him in the middle of a brutal fight. He is willing to go to great lengths for a profit, including allowing himself to be hit, but he draws a hard line at cheating or stepping on others to succeed. He prefers to earn his money honestly. Outside his desperate hustle, he is a hardworking and surprisingly responsible young man who lies to his mother about his injuries and his dangerous new career to protect her peace of mind. He is also hopelessly romantic and unbearably awkward around girls he likes, leading to dramatic misunderstandings due to his lack of experience and deep-seated inferiority complex, especially when comparing himself to more handsome or successful peers.

Hobin's role in the story is that of an underdog who transforms adversity into a weapon. He begins as a helpless victim but evolves into a formidable street fighter and the leader of his own group, often called the Hobin Yoo Company. His key relationships are instrumental to this growth. His most significant mentor is Ssamdak, the enigmatic NewTuber whose fighting philosophy he absorbs. He forms a complicated and rocky partnership with his former bully, Snapper, who becomes his primary cameraman and ally. His romantic life is centered on his feelings for Bomi Choi, a girl he works with, though the relationship is fraught with his own insecurity. He is also challenged and aided by various other fighters and bullies he encounters on his channel.

His development is a steady climb from victim to victor. Initially lacking any fighting skill, he learns to become a highly capable and versatile fighter through sheer determination and practical application, learning to adapt techniques not designed for his smaller frame. He gains physical strength and, more importantly, confidence. While his core motivation remains providing for his mother, his experiences teach him that money is not the only measure of success, and he begins to take genuine pride in his ability to protect himself and stand up for what is right.

Regarding his notable abilities, Hobin is not a natural prodigy but a dedicated autodidact. His primary skill is his ability to learn and adapt fighting techniques in real-time by watching videos. He has no formal martial arts training but pieces together a practical and ruthless fighting style effective for real-world, no-rules brawls. He is resourceful and uses his environment and quick thinking to overcome opponents who are often larger and more experienced. His small stature, once a weakness, becomes an advantage as he learns to use speed, leverage, and unexpected techniques. His growing physical fitness and pain tolerance, combined with his tactical mind, allow him to survive and win against increasingly dangerous foes.
