Description
Hobin Yoo is the central protagonist of the series, a high school student whose life is transformed by an unexpected viral video. His background is defined by significant hardship. He lost his father at a young age and lives in poverty with his mother, who is battling cancer and requires expensive hospital care. To support them both, Hobin works a grueling number of part-time jobs, including a position at a fast-food restaurant, often sacrificing his own well-being to pay the accumulating medical bills. At school, he is a frequent target for bullies, most notably a popular NewTuber named Pakgo, which has made him timid and withdrawn, a stark contrast to the more sociable person he was before the harassment began.

In terms of personality, Hobin is a complex individual shaped by his circumstances. He is naturally hardworking, kind, and tries to be helpful to others, often going to great lengths to hide his pain and struggles from his mother so she will not worry. He is also deeply cynical and self-aware about his social standing, viewing himself as a loser, and his primary motivation is financial. Having lived in poverty his whole life, he genuinely believes that money is the key to happiness and is desperate to earn enough so his mother can stop working and be at peace. This love for money is so strong that the sound of donation alerts during his streams can literally cheer him up, even when he is badly hurt in a fight. Despite his desperation, he has a firm moral code, preferring to earn money on his own terms and refusing to trample on others or fabricate his content for fame. He is generally peaceful and avoids unnecessary conflict because he hates pain, but he can react with explosive force when someone insults or hurts the people he cares about, especially his mother.

Hobin’s role in the story is that of an unlikely fighter and content creator. His journey begins accidentally when a physical altercation with his classmate, a cameraman nicknamed Snapper, is live-streamed and goes viral overnight, earning him a significant sum of money. Recognizing an opportunity, the two form an unlikely partnership and launch a NewTube channel called Viral Hit, dedicated to confronting and exposing other bullies and fraudulent content creators. Hobin’s main role is as the channel's on-screen talent and primary fighter, risking his physical safety to generate views and income. His motivations are a mix of financial desperation and a growing sense of justice. While initially just wanting to pay his mother’s bills, he finds purpose in using his platform to stand up for others who are being victimized.

His key relationships drive much of the plot. His partnership with Snapper is foundational, evolving from a hostile association to a genuine friendship built on mutual gain and loyalty. He has a deep, albeit awkward, romantic interest in Bomi Choi, a girl who works at the same restaurant as him, and their relationship is characterized by his shyness and romantic inexperience. He forms a crew around his channel, including the eccentric editor Gaeul. His most important mentor is a mysterious masked NewTuber known as Ssamdak or the Chicken Head, whose obscure fighting tutorials Hobin studies religiously to learn how to defeat opponents far larger and more skilled than himself.

Hobin undergoes significant development, starting as a helpless victim of bullying and transforming into a strategic and capable fighter. His growth is not just physical but also mental, as his fragile self-confidence is constantly tested. He learns that pride has a cost and that sometimes avoiding a fight is not an option. He evolves from someone who would do anything for money to a leader who values his team and his principles, all while still being motivated by financial gain. His notable abilities are not based on natural talent or physical strength. Instead, he is a quick learner who studies and meticulously practices specific techniques from online videos. His fighting style is pragmatic and tactical, focusing on exploiting an opponent's weaknesses rather than overpowering them. For instance, he has used a repeated calf kick to disable a larger bully and created a slippery surface to neutralize a taekwondo expert’s kicks. He often shouts the names of the techniques he is using, a quirk he picked up from the instructional videos he watches.
