Kobato Kashima is a supporting character in Failure Frame. She is a member of Class 2C, a group of students summoned to another world by the goddess Vysis to serve as heroes. In that world, she is classified as a D-rank hero. Kobato is inherently shy and struggles to converse with boys, often describing herself as weak-willed and a coward who does not stand out. Despite her timidity, she is a kind person who cares about her classmates. Her notable ability is a rare skill called Disklose, which allows her to view the status and statistics of other heroes, providing valuable support to her team during battles. She is also the first among her classmates to realize the true identity of the Fly King Belzegia, showing a perceptive side. Kobato had a quasi-friendship with the protagonist Touka Mimori. When Touka was abandoned and believed dead after being banished by the goddess, Kobato was deeply affected, lamenting his death and feeling helpless for not being able to intervene. This event marks a point of development for her as she continues to navigate the fantasy world and gradually overcomes her initial fears while using her skill to aid her fellow heroes.
