Description
Takumi Kayano is the protagonist of the story, a young Japanese man who meets his end at the age of twenty-eight due to an accidental mistake by the Wind God, Sylphyryll. As an apology, the god reincarnates him into the fantasy world of Etelldia, providing him with a new, younger body and gifting him with a variety of magical powers to help him survive. Upon arriving in the dangerous Forest of Gaia, he discovers a pair of abandoned five-year-old twins. He takes them under his protection, naming them Alan and Elena, and resolves to raise them as his own children while working as an adventurer.
In terms of personality, Takumi is defined by his kindness, friendliness, and caring nature. He is a genuine and devoted parental figure to the twins, earning their adoration through his consistent love and support. He carries with him the humble and modest demeanor typical of someone from Japan, which often leads others in his new world to underestimate his true capabilities. Despite possessing immense power, his unassuming appearance and lack of a seasoned adventurer's presence frequently cause people to dismiss him as an average or weak individual. His primary motivation shifts from simple survival to the well-being and upbringing of Alan and Elena, dedicating himself to providing them with a safe and happy life. He embraces the role of a single parent wholeheartedly, navigating the challenges of raising two extraordinary children while also making a living as an adventurer. His journey involves not only fighting monsters but also introducing concepts from his former life, such as new culinary techniques, to enrich their shared experiences.
As the central figure of the story, Takumi's role is that of a guardian, mentor, and provider. His relationship with Alan and Elena is the emotional core of the narrative. He finds them as nameless, abandoned children and gives them not only a home and a family but also their identities. The twins, who possess divine parentage and incredible strength, are fiercely loyal to him and quickly accept him as their parental figure. Together, they form an unconventional but loving family unit. Beyond the twins, Takumi builds key relationships with a growing number of mythical beasts. He has the ability to form contracts with them, becoming a Beastmaster who commands powerful creatures such as a fenrir, a heavenly tiger, and a thunder hawk. Throughout his adventures, he also gains blessings from other deities, including the Water God, Fire God, Earth God, and the Creation Goddess Marianora, which significantly expand his magical abilities and further his development into a symbol of nurturing and growth.
Takumi's development is marked by his transition from an ordinary man who was accidentally killed to a powerful and dedicated parent. He evolves as he learns to balance the responsibilities of childcare with the dangers of adventuring, continually growing stronger to protect his family. His notable abilities are vast and varied, largely stemming from the blessings he receives from Sylphyryll. He is an exceptionally powerful mage, with a particular affinity for wind magic, and later gains mastery over water, fire, and earth elements. He also possesses a legendary "Bottomless Inventory" that allows him to store an immense amount of items, including objects as large as a sunken ship. His physical strength and magical power are so high that he often performs feats considered impossible by the standards of his new world, an achievement he remains mostly oblivious to due to his humble nature. His daily life also involves using unique spells for practical tasks, like a cleaning spell for his contracted beasts, blending his former world's sensibilities with his new magical powers.
