Description
Meiko Myoden is a character from the Beyblade X anime and manga. She is a former professional Blader who now works as the secretary and maid for Taisho Sushiya at Komaba Sushi, where she manages the day-to-day operations of the establishment. Her competitive career came to an abrupt end due to a permanent wrist injury she sustained while training, an event that forced her into an early retirement. Before her injury, she was a member of the professional team Top Blend, alongside her teammates Ai Nekki and Warden, who was formerly known as Edward Kado. The team disbanded after her retirement, right before they could achieve their goal of reaching the top of The X.

In terms of personality, Meiko is consistently calm, collected, and mature, maintaining her composure in both her professional duties and her social life. Even though she has stepped back from competitive battling, her love for the sport remains, and her skills as a Blader have not diminished. She is highly intelligent and resourceful, with a strategic mind that makes her an excellent coach. While she can be strict in her guidance, this sternness is balanced by a deep and genuine affection for those she mentors, particularly the members of Team Persona. She has a nurturing side and is dedicated to excellence, which makes her a respected figure in the Blading community.

Meiko's primary role in the story is as the coach and manager for Team Persona, the team that Komaba Sushi sponsors. She oversees their training and development, using her experience as a former pro to guide them. Her motivations are deeply tied to her past; she carries the promise that her original team, Top Blend, made to reach the top of The X. Unable to achieve this dream herself due to her injury, she now invests her hopes in Team Persona, asking Robin Kazami to help her realize her dream of reaching the pinnacle of the sport. She returns to competitive battling during the Shuffle Battle Festival, where she secures a victory against Jian, reaffirming her commitment to this promise.

Her key relationships are central to her character. She shares a family-like bond with her former teammates, Ai Nekki and Warden, who still hold a mutual respect for her. Her strongest and closest relationship among Team Persona is with Robin Kazami. She acts as his personal coach, seeing much of her former teammate Ai's spirit in him, and she develops a bond with him that is described as being like a brother or a son. She helps him through his struggles, such as when he has trouble mastering a new Beyblade, taking him to the beach to clear his mind and training him on a boat. She also has a professional and loyal relationship with her employer, Taisho Sushiya.

Throughout the series, Meiko shows significant development as she transitions from a retired Blader haunted by the end of her career to an active and inspiring coach. She moves from the sidelines back into the stadium for special occasions, proving to herself and others that her edge remains sharp. Her emotional depth is revealed when she is moved to tears by Robin's matches and when she makes a heartfelt promise to see her old team's dream fulfilled through Team Persona.

As a Blader, Meiko possesses notable abilities centered on strategy and technique. Her fighting style often involves what is described as Power Copying, and she is highly skilled at analyzing opponents' tactics. Her primary Beyblades are Keel Shark 3-60LF, an Attack Type, and Tide Whale 5-80E, a Balance Type. She is also known to borrow and expertly use other Bladers' Beyblades, such as Sword Dran, Arrow Wizard, and a replica of Claw Leon. Her signature special move is Blue Fang, a technique where she uses her Beyblade's low height to strike an opponent's Ratchet from below, resulting in a Burst Finish. She also masters the Xtreme Dash, and her variations, Xtreme Dash Abyss Fang and Xtreme Dash Giant Breaching, utilize the stadium's Xtreme Line to execute powerful high-speed attacks. Her shoot power is recorded to be 8000.
