Description
Jaxon Cross, known in Japan as Ekusu Kurosu and by his masked alias Blader X or Kamen X, is the central protagonist of Beyblade X. He is a young boy with blue eyes and blue hair accented with blonde highlights, with a few bangs styled into a distinctive X shape. Under his masked identity, he wears a blue mask with a black lens and a prominent red X, a white hooded tailcoat, a black turtleneck, blue shorts, brown leggings, and light gray sneakers with blue laces. His journey into Beyblading began at a very young age under the tutelage of his master, Ginro. By the time he was seven years old, Jaxon had learned everything his master could teach. As a parting gift, Ginro gave him a powerful Beyblade named Sword Dran, which had a blue metal coating. In their final battle, Jaxon won using an Xtreme Dash, a move that chipped a piece of the blue paint from Sword Dran. Rather than being a sign of damage, Ginro explained that the chipping paint was proof of Jaxon's launching power and that more of the coating would wear away as he grew stronger, visually marking his progress.

Jaxon's personality is defined by his pure and unyielding enjoyment of Beyblading. Unlike many professional Bladers who view the activity as work, Jaxon sees every battle as a game to be savored and has fun whenever he launches his Bey. He is a Blood Knight at heart, constantly seeking out strong opponents and becoming visibly excited, sometimes to the point of laughing maniacally, when pushed to his limits in a challenging match. Outside of battles, he can be hard to read and displays a playful, sometimes lazy demeanor, but his focus and exhilaration during competition are undeniable. His love for the sport is matched by a bizarre taste in food, as he particularly enjoys the experimental and unconventional sushi creations from Komaba Sushi.

Jaxon began his professional career as a member of Team Pendragon, the reigning champions of The X. Alongside teammates Khrome Ryugu and Sigrid Nana-iro, he achieved an undefeated streak, but feeling unchallenged at the pinnacle, he left the team. To start from the bottom and reignite meaningful competition, he adopted the masked persona of Blader X, hiding his true identity to climb the ranks once more with the specific goal of battling his former teammate, Khrome Ryugu, in a serious, high-stakes match. He later founded Team Persona, naming it after his masked identity, and recruited the amateur Blader Robin Kazami and the talented influencer and Beycrafter Multi Nana-iro. While he serves as the team's ace, his single-minded passion for battling often overshadows organizational leadership, a role that typically falls to Robin.

Jaxon's key relationships drive much of the story. His dynamic with Khrome Ryugu is the most central and complex; Khrome is obsessed with surpassing Jaxon, which fuels a fierce rivalry. Their climactic battles are monumental events, with Jaxon ultimately emerging victorious, though often with significant damage to his Beys. Within Team Persona, Jaxon acts as a mentor and brotherly figure to Robin Kazami, constantly reminding him that Beyblading is meant to be fun and helping him build confidence. His relationship with Multi Nana-iro is one of mutual reliance; she crafts and maintains his advanced Beyblades, including Dagger Dran and Buster Dran, while he uses them to achieve victory. Throughout the series, Jaxon develops from a seemingly aimless prodigy who left his championship team into a driven competitor. After achieving his goal of defeating Khrome, he finds himself without a clear purpose, but a chance encounter with a new, powerful Blader reignites his passion and pushes him to take up his launcher once again, leading to further growth and new challenges.

Jaxon's notable abilities center on his incredible launching power and speed, which have been measured at a remarkable level. His battling style relies heavily on variations of the Xtreme Dash, a technique where the gears on his Beyblade's Bit interact with the X-Celerator Rail in the Xtreme Stadium to produce explosive acceleration. He has mastered numerous advanced versions of this move, including the Xtreme Dash Double and Triple for successive accelerations, the Xtreme Dash Infinite for continuous speed build-up, and the Xtreme Dash Buster, which concentrates all power into a single, devastating strike. He has also demonstrated highly advanced maneuvers like the Xtreme Dash Dragonic Break, which involves riding the entire rail twice with a mid-air jump. His catchphrase, "I'll show you the invisible X," refers to the immense speed of his Beyblades, which can make them difficult to see during his attacks. His primary Beyblades are all from the Dran series, starting with Sword Dran, then Dagger Dran, and later the more powerful Buster Dran and Courage Dran, each crafted or obtained to suit his evolving battle style.
