TV-Series
Description
Ciel Kaminari, also known as Shieru Kaminari, is a prominent character introduced in the Beyblade X series. He is a young Blader of average height, easily recognized by his spiky orange hair with two bangs shaped like lightning bolts and his green eyes that feature distinct yellow lightning bolt patterns. His typical attire includes a lime green headband, a gray shirt with elbow-length sleeves and an orange stripe, and a shoulder pack worn over it. He completes his look with black trousers that have a pattern resembling a turtle shell with an orange stripe on the side, and gray sneakers with yellow laces. In his alter ego as Blader Z, also called Kamen Z, he wears a gray mask with a horn on the right side, a black gear-patterned lens, and an orange "Z" at its center; this mask also contains a voice filter and a cellphone connection to another character.

Before turning professional, Ciel was renowned as the King of Amateurs, holding an exceptional and undefeated record of 502 consecutive wins. Despite not climbing the X Tower through the usual competitive route, his raw skill was considered to be on par with professional Bladers from the top floors. He initially struggled with the decision to go pro, but his path was decided when he was personally scouted by the famous Blader Khrome Ryugu to join the elite team Pendragon, filling the position left vacant by the departure of Jaxon Cross. Because Ciel deeply respects Khrome as his idol and believes in his potential to become one of the strongest, he accepted the offer and adopted the masked persona of Blader Z, vowing to do whatever it takes to be worthy of his new team and to help fulfill Khrome's dreams.

Driven by his deep admiration for Khrome, Ciel's primary motivation is to prove himself as a member of Pendragon. He holds a personal grudge against Jaxon Cross, believing that Jaxon's departure negatively affected Khrome. This fuels Ciel's determination to surpass Jaxon and establish himself as a more worthy team member than his predecessor. His loyalty to Khrome is so strong that he even turned down offers from other sponsors. While often reserved, calculating, and fiercely independent in his normal demeanor, he adopts a more theatrical and confident personality when masked as Blader Z, using the persona to add psychological pressure on opponents. Despite his calm exterior, he has a strong competitive streak. His rivalry with the protagonist, Robin Kazami, is a key part of his story. Ciel initially underestimates Robin, but after a challenging battle, he comes to recognize Robin as an equal rival, forming a unique and respectful rivalry with him.

Throughout the series, Ciel experiences notable development. After a significant defeat of his idol Khrome, Ciel reveals his identity as Blader Z and vows to avenge him. However, during a subsequent title match against Robin, he faces an unexpected challenge. Despite his undefeated record, he struggles against Robin's relentless efforts and unpolished but passionate techniques. Although Ciel ultimately wins the match, he does not feel like a victor; instead, he experiences a profound sense of defeat unlike any before. This event forces him to confront his own limitations and begins a new struggle to find his own path as a Blader, aiming to protect Pendragon in Khrome's absence but feeling troubled by his current inability to do so effectively.

Ciel's abilities are a direct reflection of his strategic and endurance-based personality. His signature Beyblade is Obsidian Shell, also known as Black Shell. This Beyblade is a Defense-type that was given to him by Khrome, and it embodies Ciel's battle philosophy of withstanding opponent attacks to launch precise counter-strikes. He has also been shown using replicas of other Bladers' Beyblades, including a copy of Khrome's Cobalt Drake and a copy of Jaxon Cross's Dran Buster. His battle style is focused on resilience, and he has been recorded as having a launch power of 8800. As a member of Pendragon, which stands at the top of the Slash Tower, Ciel is established as one of the most talented and promising Bladers in the professional league.
