Description
Miihi Kurosawa is a fictional fifth-grade figure skater from the anime Medalist, aged eleven and originally from Hiroshima. She has medium-length lime green hair that she typically wears in twin buns. Off the ice, she tends to hide the left side of her face behind her bangs due to her timid nature, but when she steps onto the ice she pushes them back, revealing a more focused and expressive side.
Her personality is reserved and shy; she does not often display her emotions openly in daily life. This quiet exterior, however, belies a strong inner determination when it comes to figure skating. She is drawn to the sport through her close friend Seira Shishido, with whom she initially trained. Her skating style is flashy and distinctive, often incorporating a leopard-print motif, and she relies heavily on flexibility and artistic expression rather than on powerful jumps. She speaks with a Hiroshima dialect, reflecting her regional background.
Miihi’s primary motivation is to improve as a skater and compete alongside her friend. She originally belonged to the Star Hiroshima Figure Skating Club and later transferred to the Okayama Tina club together with Seira. Her role in the story is that of a supporting competitor who poses a challenge to the main characters, particularly Inori Yuitsuka. She demonstrates steady growth through her participation in regional competitions, notably earning a bronze medal at the Kyushu Block Competition. Throughout her arc, she learns to channel her shyness into her performances, becoming more comfortable showing her true self on the ice.
Her key relationships revolve around her friendship with Seira, which provides mutual encouragement and a sense of rivalry. She also interacts with other young skaters such as Hikaru Kamisaki and Ran Ogumo, each pushing her to refine her abilities. Miihi’s development is marked by her transition to a new club, her increasing confidence in competitive settings, and her gradual embrace of her own unique style. Her notable abilities include exceptional flexibility, strong interpretive skills that allow her to convey emotion through movement, and a fearless approach to choreography that sets her apart from more technically oriented skaters.
