Description
Nigorikawa is an imaginary figure from the story The Dangers in My Heart, existing solely within the mind of the main character, Kyotaro Ichikawa. Also referred to as Imaginary Kyoutarou, this character is a projection that Ichikawa generates to help him cope with his own emotional insecurities and awkwardness. Nigorikawa appears as a confident, blunt, and cool-headed young man who often voices the thoughts and impulses that Ichikawa suppresses in reality. In the fictional manga series Your Color's Octave, which is shown within the narrative, Nigorikawa serves as the male lead with a personality that is outwardly harsh and prone to insulting others, yet is genuinely kind underneath. This external portrayal reflects the persona that Ichikawa wishes he could adopt, acting as a more assertive and self-assured version of himself. Within the main story, Nigorikawa functions as a psychological tool, appearing during moments when Ichikawa struggles to express his true feelings or when he needs to confront his own desires. Over the course of the series, as Ichikawa grows more confident and emotionally mature, the presence of Nigorikawa diminishes, representing the character's internal development. Nigorikawa does not have direct interactions with other characters; his role is confined to Ichikawa's inner world, where he personifies the protagonist's hidden confidence and unfiltered emotions. His notable ability is to serve as a narrative device that externalizes Ichikawa's internal monologue, making the protagonist's psychological growth more visible to the audience.
