Description
Kaka is a middle-class deity who serves a master named Ichiyo. She belongs to a rare race known as the Shoshi, which is typically prized for its ethereal beauty, charm, and potential as a divine companion when properly trained. In most situations, Kaka maintains the appearance of a small child, with traits common to her species such as large eyes and distinctive animal-like ears. Unlike the majority of her kind who undergo a significant transformation after living for three thousand years, Kaka was born having already completed this change, making her an unprecedented anomaly even among the Shoshi. This unique origin contributes to a nature that is considered wild and difficult for ordinary masters to manage.
Kaka's personality is markedly childish, impulsive, and untamed. Because Ichiyo allows her to act freely without enforcing the social training typical for her species, she has not learned to be charming or refined. She often uses rude and harsh language, sometimes even telling others to drop dead, and behaves with the volatile emotions of a toddler, crying loudly or throwing tantrums when scolded. Despite her small size and juvenile demeanor, Kaka possesses a fierce and protective side. She is deeply loyal to Ichiyo, referring to her as Sensei, and trusts no one else. Her affection is exclusively reserved for her master, and she treats most other individuals, including Tenko, a fellow deity serving Ichiyo, with open hostility or rough indifference.
Kaka's abilities are intrinsically linked to her rare nature. She possesses the power to temporarily transform into an adult form, during which her animal-like ears become large, majestic wings that grant her the ability to fly. In this matured state, her voice gains potent control over others, allowing her to manipulate their actions. Her speech and demeanor become more mature and graceful when transformed, and she addresses Ichiyo by name rather than as Sensei. However, this outward maturity does not reflect her internal state; she remains emotionally childlike and vulnerable, easily reverting to tears and tantrums if Ichiyo reprimands her.
In the story, Kaka serves as one of Ichiyo's familiars, accompanying her on perilous missions that involve tracking and securing malevolent gods who have brought chaos to the world. Her role is defined almost entirely by her relationship with Ichiyo, whom she defends with immediate aggression against anyone who poses a threat. A specific incident highlights this dynamic when a character named Bui attempted to drive Kaka away from Ichiyo's home. In response, Kaka briefly manifested her powerful adult form, using her wings and voice-based abilities to resist, yet she immediately returned to her childish emotional state when Ichiyo scolded her. This event underscores her development as a being who, despite possessing formidable powers, is still growing and whose psychological maturity lags far behind her physical potential. Her unique status as a Shoshi born already transformed makes her a challenging but invaluable asset that only someone with Ichiyos understanding can handle.
