Description
Chika Yonezawa is a third-year student at Umimaku High School and serves as the section leader for the second violins in the school's orchestra club. Her birthday is December 25th. She has light brown hair typically styled in a casual, messy ponytail loop tied off to the left side, with a cropped fringe across her forehead, and brown eyes. Her expression often features a mischievous cat-like grin.

Yonezawa has a bright, cheerful, and easy-going personality that makes her approachable to underclassmen. She is known for being a peacemaker among club members, frequently stepping in to mediate arguments and help maintain harmony within the orchestra. While generally jovial and encouraging, she can become overly enthusiastic when excited or curious about something. As an upperclassman, she genuinely cares for her fellow violinists and wants them to succeed and get along with one another.

Her role in the story is primarily as a supportive senior leader who guides the second violin section, which contains many beginners. She is responsible for helping newer players integrate into the orchestra and develop their skills. When she first took on the position of section leader, she struggled with bringing the members together and maintaining peace, often looking dejected after club activities ended. Over time, however, she learned to manage the younger students effectively and grew to love her leadership position.

Yonezawa has a notable working relationship with Harada Sou, the section leader for the first violins. The two complement each other well, as she is more reckless and energetic while he keeps her focused and on track. She enjoys teasing Harada and knows how to bring out his competitive side, often making him smile. They are both dedicated to their underclassmen and look out for the other violinists in the section. Harada has commented that Yonezawa lives so far from the school that she has to eat breakfast on the train every morning.

She interacts closely with first-year student Ritsuko Akine, who calls her Chika-senpai. Yonezawa notices that Akine is a new player who pays close attention during practice and has the ability to get along well with other players. She also recognizes tension between Akine and a second-year violinist and will step in to reprimand them for fighting. When Hajime Aono joined the club, Yonezawa did not hesitate to have him play on the spot during the opening club day, pitting him against another student. She was astounded by his performance and recalled that he was the son of a famous violinist, openly stating that his skills were extremely good and recognizing him as a powerful underclassman, much to his discomfort.

Her notable abilities include her leadership skills in managing a diverse section of players, her capacity to maintain group harmony, and her perceptiveness in recognizing tension and talent among her fellow club members. Her musical abilities are sufficient to hold the position of section leader, responsible for coordinating and guiding the second violin section.
