Baku wields explosive magic with ruthless precision, his towering, muscular frame cloaked in a fur coat and concealed behind a flesh-like mask. To fuel his volatile combat style, he launches fist-sized incendiary projectiles through billowing smoke—a technique amplified by the deliberate removal of his right hand, which channels the blasts.
Nine years before the central conflict, Baku and his accomplice Yaku ambushed Noi and Shin at the Flower Smoke, attempting to forcibly recruit them. When Noi shattered Baku’s skull with a boulder, he detonated a final explosion that gravely wounded Shin, compelling Noi to forsake her devil training to preserve his life. Though believed deceased, Baku and Yaku reemerged during the Blue Night Festival, renewing their violent campaign to join the En Family.
In later events, Baku subdued Noi and spirited her away on a magic broom to rendezvous with Yaku. Their scheme collapsed upon encountering Kaiman and laborers from Restaurant Tanba. Kaiman slew Baku in the clash, while Yaku’s transformation into a meat pie by Fukuyama unwittingly spared Shin and Noi’s lives.
Baku’s initial assault irrevocably intertwined Shin and Noi’s fates, forging their partnership through survival. His relentless pursuit of dominance across timelines positioned him as a pivotal instigator in the cleaners’ conflicts. His combat philosophy merges calculated planning with visceral brutality, each explosion embodying his creed of merciless, unrestrained force.
