Fukuyama serves as a Magic User and waiter at Restaurant Tanba, debuting in Volume 5, Chapter 24. Clad in a plain white dress shirt and a simple ski mask concealing his black hair, slightly tanned skin, and unremarkable features, his ordinary haircut and calm demeanor contrast his masked appearance. A cheerful, laid-back devotee of Tanba, he dedicates himself to mastering magic and safeguarding others, though guilt plagues him when using his Meat Pie Magic on humans—even defensively. His loyalty drives him to shield both the restaurant and its staff during threats. Fukuyama’s magic instantly transforms touched objects into meat pies proportionate to their original size, rivaling En’s power but constrained by limited stamina. Dependent on a wand to channel smoky energy, he struggles with hand-casting. Rescued by Kaiman from Magic Users coercing him into the Blue Night, Fukuyama facilitated Kaiman’s employment under Tanba. Daily tasks span prepping pies, cleaning, and serving patrons, interspersed with ventures like accompanying Tanba and Kaiman to the Devil’s Prison to aid Kaiman’s hunt for Cross-Eyes intel. In pivotal moments, he neutralized sorcerer Yaku by pie-conversion to protect Kaiman—a fatal act enabling Ebisu’s consumption of Yaku. Asuka’s enchanted apple pies later ensnared him during a cooking contest, with freedom arriving only after her banishment. When Cross-Eyes assaulted the restaurant, Fukuyama repelled waves of attackers through rapid pie transformations, startling Tanba and Kirion with his ferocity. Recognizing Aikawa’s voice during a later raid, he promptly turned the assailant into a pie, compelling Cross-Eyes’ retreat. Amid apocalyptic rains in the Magic User realm, Fukuyama battled illness while aiding Tanba’s survivor search until rescued by Kirion and encountering Asuka within her Angel shelter. Beyond his duties, Fukuyama seeks higher wages, workplace recognition, a dependable partner, and Tanba’s respect—drivers fueling his relentless pursuit of growth despite self-doubt and the perilous realities of his dual role as magician and waiter.
