Description
In Dragon Ball Daima, the character long known as the East Kaiōshin, Shin, is revealed to have the true name Nahare. This name is his original identity as a member of the Glind race, a people who are born from trees on the planet Kaishin and who are native to the Demon Realm. At some point in the distant past, Nahare left the Demon Realm and traveled to the Seventh Universe, where he eventually assumed the role of the East Kaiōshin, the Supreme Kai responsible for maintaining balance alongside the God of Destruction, Beerus.

Nahare presents a personality that balances divine authority with a cautious and thoughtful demeanor. He possesses a strong sense of responsibility and often acts as the voice of reason, particularly when confronting the reckless tendencies of fighters like Son Goku. While his elevated status grants him vast knowledge of the cosmos, he is not prone to arrogance. Instead, he exhibits genuine care for the welfare of the universe and its inhabitants. This sense of duty drives his actions, though he is not without his flaws, having been known to make misjudgments in past conflicts.

Following a disturbance that transforms the main cast into children, Nahare and his attendant Kibito travel to Earth to investigate. Upon learning from Mr. Popo that the Demon Realm inhabitants Gomah and Degesu have kidnapped the guardian Dende, Nahare becomes notably distressed, revealing that Degesu is his younger brother. Determined to rectify the situation, he organizes the response, first attempting to use his own broken ship before ultimately deciding to accompany Goku into the Demon Realm aboard the ship of a mysterious Majin named Glorio.

Once in the Demon Realm, Nahare’s role becomes even more central, particularly in the Third Demon World, where the populace is oppressed by magical collars made of Katchintite. These collars drain the wearer's energy and are used by the Gendarmerie to maintain control. Demonstrating unique magical abilities separate from standard combat techniques, Nahare is able to destroy one of these collars with a specific spell, freeing his new ally Panzy. This act positions him as a key figure with the potential to liberate the entire realm, as the system of collars is part of an oppressive legacy dating back to the reign of Dabura.

His relationships are deeply tied to his origins in the Demon Realm. His younger brother, Degesu, serves as the right hand of the new Demon King Gomah, but the brothers share a strained relationship; Degesu has been described as ambitious and looks down on Nahare for leaving their realm and siding with the outside universe. Nahare also has a sister, the scientist Dr. Arinsu, whose motivations remain shrouded in mystery. Seeing Arinsu and Degesu involved in the plot against the universe adds a personal and emotional layer to his mission.

Throughout the story, Nahare shows significant development, transitioning from a more passive observer of cosmic events to an active and crucial protagonist. After decades of being a supporting character, the events of Daima force him to confront his past, utilize his unique magical skills in battle, and take a direct leadership role. His physical transformation into a child, alongside his companions, does not diminish his competence; instead, it serves to highlight his knowledge of magic and demonic lore as the group's primary resource.

Among Nahare’s most notable abilities is his proficiency in magic, a trait common among the Glind. A specific spell, performed by chanting "Pan Paka Paan," allows him to disintegrate the oppressive Katchintite collars, though doing so appears to be physically taxing. Beyond this unique magical talent, he retains the formidable power of a Supreme Kai, which is theoretically sufficient to defeat an adversary of Frieza's level with a single blow. He possesses the ability to teleport, a skill he uses to gather resources, and is generally capable in combat, employing a fighting style that emphasizes his calm intellect and strategic foresight.
