Description
Girard Estaria is a significant supporting character originally introduced as the third main support character to the protagonist, Shin. He is a member of the High Beast race, the beastman equivalent of the High Humans, and is known as a powerful beast warrior. His early life was marked by the turmoil following the defeat of a great threat known as Origin. While Shin was not present during this period, time was mysteriously stopped within Girard’s body, which allowed him to live for an extraordinarily long time, far surpassing the typical maximum lifespan of 150 years for his kind. By the time of his final appearance, his age had reached 521 years.

In terms of personality, Girard is characterized by a deep sense of loneliness and a singular focus on combat. Despite his immense strength and status as a hero and unifier, he is described as a solitary king who often felt isolated. His primary drive was not governance or politics, but the pursuit of martial strength and a desire to test his abilities against the ultimate benchmark: a High Human like Shin. This deep-seated desire to know if his power could ever reach that level became his central motivation. He is remembered by his close companions as a great person and a warrior without peer, but also as someone who could not help but fight and who thought deeply of his friends even as he stood apart from them.

Girard's role in the story is that of a legendary founder and a former comrade whose long life has reached its end. He is the founder of the Falnido Beast Alliance, a union of beastmen tribes he brought together during a period of great upheaval, earning him the title of the first Beast King and a hero among his people. His key relationships are primarily with Shin and the other members of his original party. He holds Shin in the highest regard, viewing him as his master and the one whose acknowledgment he most desires. He also has significant bonds with his descendants, including the eighth Beast King Wolfgang and Princess Cuore, and with his former comrades-in-arms, such as Van, Rajim, and another of Shin's support characters, the High Dragonato Shibaid Etraku.

Girard undergoes his ultimate development not through a change in his beliefs, but through the culmination of his lifelong wish. Upon being reunited with Shin after 500 years, he can feel that his death is approaching. Seizing this final opportunity, he challenges Shin to a duel to the death, not out of malice, but to fulfill his long-held desire to have his skills measured against the pinnacle of power. In their fight, Girard is able to push himself beyond his previous limits, even managing to briefly overpower Shin by activating two Shiden skills simultaneously and landing a small wound on him. Satisfied that his fangs had finally reached his master, he dies contentedly, his final wish fulfilled. His grand funeral serves as a major event that brings together countless individuals whose lives he touched and acts as a pivotal point of connection between other key characters.

Notable abilities include his status as a High Beast, which grants him superior physical capabilities. He wields a powerful weapon called Crushing Moon and wears the Earth Fissure set of equipment, which provides special bonuses and status effect immunities. In his final duel, he demonstrated the ability to use high-level martial arts like Explosive Strike and to partially transform his body into a more bestial form, such as that of a wolf, to gain a speed advantage. Most impressively, he could activate two Shiden skills simultaneously and push his agility past natural limits by burning his own life force, allowing him to evade magic that should have been unavoidable. His ultimate technique, which he willingly received from Shin, was a Shiden Zekka.
