Jin Enjoji, almost exclusively called by his nickname Jiji, is a major character who serves as a childhood friend and first love of Momo Ayase. After several professional mediums failed to exorcise the entity, Jiji sought help from Momo’s grandmother, Seiko, and subsequently came to live with the Ayase family as a lodger while transferring to Momo and Okarun’s school.

Despite having a tall, athletic, and handsome appearance that initially leads Okarun to perceive him as a cool and stoic rival, Jiji’s true personality is drastically different. His behavior is often described as frivolous, and he can come across as a class clown or even a bit of an airhead, to the point where Seiko sarcastically calls him a genius regarding his lack of common sense. However, beneath this loud and eccentric exterior lies a remarkably warm, open-hearted, and sincere individual. Jiji possesses a deep well of empathy and emotional intelligence, treating everyone as an equal without building walls between himself and others.

Jiji’s primary motivation in the story is initially to rid his family’s home of the Evil Eye, the vengeful spirit of a boy sacrificed to appease a volcano. Upon learning of the spirit’s tragic past, his goal shifts dramatically from seeking its destruction to finding a path of coexistence. He is also driven by his lingering feelings for Momo and a desire to protect her, which manifests as a strong sense of guilt for having teased her about her grandmother’s protective rituals when they were children. Jiji openly apologizes for his past behavior upon reuniting with her, demonstrating clear remorse and personal growth. His role in the story is that of a new friend and ally to the main group, providing significant comedic relief while also serving as a formidable fighter and a catalyst for a love triangle dynamic that tests Okarun’s feelings for Momo.

Upon merging with the Evil Eye, he undergoes a dramatic transformation, gaining incredible powers that make him one of the strongest characters in the series. In his possessed state, his hair turns white, and a mark resembling an eye appears on his forehead. His notable abilities include creating a barrier known as the Cursed House, manipulating vengeful energy into solid objects, and incorporating his athletic prowess into combat. He can create a cursed soccer ball infused with spiritual energy to launch at enemies with devastating precision and also develops a powerful special move called the Evil Gun. His physical resilience and natural spiritual energy make him an ideal vessel for the Evil Eye’s volatile power, which he must constantly work to control with the help of his friends.
