Description
Izuna Hatanaka is a character from the anime and manga series A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! He is a 26-year-old kamaitachi, a type of animal yōkai often depicted as a weasel with sickles for limbs. Standing 183 centimeters tall, his human form has black hair, red eyes, and he typically wears glasses along with a long red scarf. This scarf, a signature part of his appearance, was knitted for him by his wife. In his true yōkai form, he can transform into a small, weasel-like creature with scythes for arms. Even in his human guise, he can manifest his arms and tail as sharp, blade-like sickles.
On the surface, Izuna presents himself as a serious and responsible teacher, but he is a former delinquent whose rough demeanor can surface, especially when he becomes angry or frustrated. He has a short temper and is easily irritated by students who break rules or fail to follow dress codes. This can cause him to "flip his switch" and revert to his old, hot-headed personality. He is often the target of good-natured ridicule from colleagues regarding his low academic ability, with rumors even circulating that he paid his way through university exams. Despite this, he excels in subjects related to yōkai and teaches chemistry, demonstrating confidence in his specialized knowledge. One of his most notable vulnerabilities is a severe fear of doctors, which makes him terrified of Dr. Takahashi, the school medic, and he will often try to escape when confronted by medical professionals.
