Lido is a lizardman Xenos distinguished by red scales and orange-yellow eyes. He serves as one of the three primary leaders of the sentient Xenos community, stepping in as a practical choice for day-to-day guidance due to the physical limitations of the elderly wood dragon and founding member, Gryuu. Openhearted and friendly, Lido quickly forms bonds with humans like Bell Cranel and his companions. He warmly welcomes Bell's group to the Xenos' hidden village on the Dungeon's 20th floor, demonstrating hospitality and a steadfast commitment to peaceful coexistence between humans and monsters. This optimism persists despite pervasive discrimination and violence the Xenos face from both humans and non-sentient monsters. His commitment is tested when members of his kind, including Ranye’s group, are killed by the Ikelos Familia and others like Wiene are captured. Consumed by grief and rage, Lido restrains himself from immediate retaliation, using Bell’s example to argue that not all adventurers are hostile. During the Knossos conflict, Lido confronts Dix Perdix, who uses a curse to incite infighting among the Xenos. Under this curse, Lido initially distances himself from Bell, fearing betrayal. Bell’s unwavering declaration that the Xenos deserve salvation empowers Lido to resist the curse’s effects, enabling him to intervene and save Bell from Dix. This act cements Lido’s profound trust in Bell, viewing him as pivotal to bridging the gap between their species. Afterwards, Lido expresses remorse for endangering the Hestia Familia and pledges mutual aid, agreeing with Wiene that the Xenos will support Bell’s familia whenever needed. In combat, Lido is a self-taught fighter wielding a scimitar and longsword. He integrates his anatomy into his fighting style, using his tail to execute simultaneous attacks from multiple directions—a tactic noted for its ingenuity. He also possesses the rare ability among lizardmen to breathe fire. His extensive Dungeon experience grants him sharp intuition, exemplified when he alone detects an impending magical attack from a Grand Treant Demi Spirit during a critical battle. Lido’s character arc culminates in a reinforced hope for interspecies harmony, driven by Bell’s compassion. He firmly believes Bell can help realize the Xenos’ dream of living openly on the surface.
