TV-Series
Description
Ganma Mogami is a 17-year-old high school student and a supporting character in Shinkalion Change the World. He attends Shinkai Academy as a second-year student and holds the position of student council president, a role that heavily influences his demeanor and actions in the series. Standing at 186cm, his physical presence is complemented by a consistently serious expression, with smaller pupils than other characters, a design choice that visually reinforces his stoic and unyielding personality.

As student council president, Ganma is defined by his unwavering commitment to rules and order. He possesses an exceedingly earnest and strict nature, applying rigorous standards not only to the student body but also to his teachers and himself. This dedication to protocol often leads others to label him as a rigid or uptight individual, someone who rarely grants exceptions without substantial justification. His reputation as a hardliner is well-established within the school.

However, this strict exterior is rooted in a specific past failure. During a previous school cultural festival, Ganma had attempted to warn his classmates about breaking certain rules but lacked the conviction to enforce them effectively. The resulting transgression led to his entire class being banned from the festival, an outcome he internalized as his own personal failing. This event forged his core belief that merely intending to protect something is insufficient; one must possess the strength and resolve to actively defend it. His rigid adherence to rules is a self-imposed discipline to ensure he never again falters due to a lack of action.

Initially, Ganma is reluctant to become involved with the Railway Club and the Shinkalion pilots, viewing their activities as potentially disruptive to school order. He even moves to disband the club, seeing it as a deviation from standard regulations. His perspective shifts dramatically when he witnesses Taisei Onari and the other younger drivers risking their lives in a desperate battle against the unknown enemy forces. Seeing their determination to protect others firsthand inspires him to act on his own principle. He resolves to use his strength to defend what matters, leading him to join the Railway Club as its newest member and accept his role as the official driver of the E8 Tsubasa Shinkalion.

Upon joining the team, Ganma quickly becomes a reliable and grounding presence. He serves as a senior figure or senpai to the younger drivers, including Taisei, Ryota, and Akane. His role often involves acting as the voice of reason, confronting his teammates when they display indecisiveness or a lack of direction, and helping them to clarify their own motivations. A key relationship is with Rio Sudanori, the student council vice president and his childhood friend. Rio is a calm and supportive confidante who understood him before he developed his strict demeanor and continues to be a steadfast partner, often providing the gentle encouragement he needs. Ryota, one of the younger drivers, initially has a poor impression of Ganma, referring to him with a disrespectful, reversed nickname. This tension gradually fades as Ganma proves his worth as a dependable ally.

Ganma undergoes notable development from a by-the-book authority figure to an active, trusted team member. His decision to pilot the Shinkalion represents a symbolic breaking free from his old, overly passive self. This is reflected in his machine, the E8 Tsubasa, which is equipped with specialized drone equipment that grants it flight capabilities and wings, allowing for flexible aerial combat. This marks a stark contrast to his previously grounded and static adherence to rules, signifying his new ability to take dynamic action.

In terms of abilities, Ganma is a highly capable Shinkalion driver. His specified unit, the E8 Tsubasa, focuses on ranged combat and aerial assaults, utilizing its drone equipment to dominate engagements from the air. He demonstrates considerable skill and composure during combat, quickly adapting to his role as a frontline defender. Outside of piloting, his personal hobbies and skills include watching films and playing shogi, a strategic board game that aligns with his thoughtful and methodical nature.
