Ouranos leads the Guild in Orario, distinguished by his white hair, blue eyes, white robe, black hooded cloak, and sandals. His personality embodies extreme stoicism and selflessness, having devoted over a millennium to maintaining peace by suppressing Dungeon monster outbreaks through constant prayer. He adheres to a philosophy of "ruling but not governing," delegating Guild administration to Royman Mardeel while residing in the subterranean Room of Prayer. Despite his reserve, he shows compassion and openness to unconventional ideas, notably becoming the first deity to champion peaceful coexistence between humans and the intelligent monsters known as Xenos.
Historically, Ouranos was among the first gods to descend from Heaven, pioneering the falna system and establishing the very first familia. One of his earliest and most renowned dependents was the legendary architect Daedalus. He later encountered Fels, a skeletal mage who became his confidential agent.
As a primordial deity, Ouranos possesses abilities exceeding ordinary gods. His "Great God" status grants heightened divine presence and partial resistance to charms like Freya's, though not complete immunity. His divine perception instantly detects mortal falsehoods, though he cannot discern lies from other gods. His primary power channels immense divinity through prayers directed at the Dungeon; this ritual contains monster hordes and prevents surface devastation, making him the cornerstone of global stability. He also senses aberrant Dungeon events, like the emergence of rare entities such as Juggernauts. He retains the restricted divine ability, the Divine Mirror, permitting observation of any mortal realm location without violating the taboo against using Arcanum.
During the events of Season III, Ouranos plays a key role in the Xenos conflict. He covertly supported the intelligent monsters long before their public revelation, viewing them as evolved beings born from the Dungeon's reincarnation cycle. After Bell Cranel discovers Wiene, a Vouivre-type Xenos, Ouranos orchestrates a mediated encounter between the Hestia Familia and the Xenos on the Dungeon's 20th floor. He reveals his long-term protection of the Xenos to Hestia, tasking her familia with bridging human-monster relations and emphasizing his hope for mutual understanding. When the Ikelos Familia captures Wiene and triggers a Xenos uprising on the 18th floor, Ouranos mobilizes the Ganesha Familia to intervene while discreetly facilitating Bell's involvement. He later endorses Fels's use of forbidden magic to resurrect Wiene, demonstrating his commitment to the Xenos' survival despite political risks.
His actions consistently reflect pragmatic authority, balancing his oath of Guild neutrality with interventions aimed at preserving life and fostering coexistence.
