Freed Diarmuit is a character from the anime The Ossan Newbie Adventurer. He is the second son of the prestigious Diarmuit ducal family and the younger brother of Angelica Diarmuit. Following the early death of his parents, Freed lives with his siblings, and together they strive to uphold the family name and manage their noble household.

Freed is a young boy of around eleven years of age. He has blonde hair that falls to his ears and green eyes. Despite his youth, he is exceptionally talented, possessing the ability to wield magic that is said to be comparable to a C-rank adventurer. This prodigious talent makes him stand out significantly among other candidates, particularly those taking the E-rank promotion exam.

Having been raised with high expectations due to his innate gift, Freed developed a strong sense of pride and a somewhat arrogant and pompous demeanor. He holds his own abilities in high regard and, like other members of his noble family, tends to look down on commoners. This self-assured and superior attitude defines much of his early behavior in the series.

A pivotal event in Freed's personal story occurs during the adventurer qualification examination. Confident in his power, he encounters the protagonist, Rick Gladiator. To his shock and humiliation, Freed is easily defeated by Rick, who is an adult novice adventurer with a hidden past. This marks the first time Freed has ever experienced defeat, and the event deals a severe blow to his pride and self-image. This encounter serves as a major turning point, challenging his worldview and forcing him to confront the limits of his abilities in the face of a true powerhouse. His key relationships include his bond with his siblings, his sister Angelica and his older brother Raster Diarmuit, who is also a notable character within the noble family.
