Description
Hayato Yuzuki is the eldest of the four Yuzuki brothers. Following the sudden death of his parents two years prior to the story's beginning, he assumes the role of primary caretaker and guardian for his three younger siblings, Mikoto, Minato, and Gakuto. Hayato is a young man with short, black hair and teal-green eyes. He is frequently seen with a calm and gentle expression or a reassuring smile, and his work attire typically consists of a dark gray suit with a white polo shirt and a blue tie.

Devoted and reliable, Hayato is defined by his strong sense of responsibility toward his family. He works as a teacher, a career he balances with the overwhelming demands of managing a household and raising three children. Despite his dedication, he often struggles with self-doubt and a tendency to shoulder every burden alone, questioning whether he is truly capable of providing his brothers with the life they deserve. This independent nature is so strong that he initially rejects offers of help from relatives, determined to fulfill the duty he has set for himself.

Hayato’s profound commitment to his family is rooted in his own childhood. His father was an unknown novelist for many years, forcing his mother to work part-time to support the family. Hayato remembers his early meals as being simple and plain. Only later, when his father's writing became successful and his younger brothers were born, did the family enjoy more elaborate dinners. His mother once held his hands and apologized for not being able to provide the same for him during his own early years. After his parents’ death, this memory became the driving force behind his actions; he honors his mother’s legacy by striving to give his brothers the best life possible, something she had wished she could have given him.

Hayato’s role in the story is that of the family's pillar. He is the one who works, cooks, cleans, and ensures his brothers are cared for. A key episode in his development occurs when he attends a high school reunion. There, he overhears former classmates gossiping that he has become like an "old auntie" because his life revolves around his siblings. This encounter leaves him feeling isolated and disillusioned, as he compares his hectic, responsible life to the carefree experiences of his peers. He is comforted by his neighbor, Saki Kirishima, a single mother who understands his struggles. She reassures him that his dedication is admirable and reminds him to embrace the rewarding moments of his life. Her wisdom helps him realize that it is natural to feel overwhelmed, but that his sacrifices are meaningful. At home, his brothers surprise him for his birthday with handmade gifts and a cake, reaffirming the strong, loving family unit his hard work has built.

His most significant relationships are with his brothers. He is the father figure to Mikoto, who is calm and level-headed, to the energetic and clumsy Minato, and to the mature-beyond-his-years Gakuto. He shares a particularly important bond with Saki Kirishima, who serves as his confidant and a valuable source of support, as they are both raising children alone. His personal abilities are largely domestic and emotional; he is a capable cook, adept at managing a household, and possesses immense emotional resilience and the patience to raise three boys while holding a full-time job. He is also known to enjoy Korean dramas, loves dogs, and favors navy blue and curry as his preferred food.
