Description
Kiui Watase is a main character from the original anime. She is a second-year high school student who operates under the online persona of Nox Ryugasaki, a confident and powerful VTuber. While she projects an image of strength and coolness in her virtual streams, her real life is vastly different, marked by a deep struggle with isolation and insecurity.

In her younger days, Kiui was an outgoing and cheerful child who loved action heroes and robots, interests typically associated with boys. She often referred to herself with the pronoun "ore," which is usually used by males, and acted as if she were the main character of her own life. However, as she progressed to middle school, her behavior and interests, once accepted as cute, began to make her a target of ridicule. Feeling out of place and unable to find friends who shared her passions, she lost all confidence and eventually stopped attending school at Toshikita High School, a prestigious institution she was enrolled in. To escape this painful reality, she created her VTuber persona, using it as a way to express her ideal self and build a new identity where she could feel a sense of belonging.

Despite her cheerful and confident online facade, Kiui is deeply insecure and hides a life of seclusion. She is a skilled video creator and is highly adept with computers and technology, having taught herself all the skills necessary for her VTuber activities. She is clever and can pick up tasks quickly, but her role in the group JELEE primarily involves video production, editing, and mixing, as well as providing technical support to members who are less familiar with music software and sound drivers. Her motivation for joining JELEE is tied to her friendship with Mahiru Kouzuki, a childhood friend, and her desire to find a place where she can be herself.

Kiui's most significant relationship is with Mahiru, her childhood friend who looks up to her. Although they attended different high schools and lost touch in person for two years, they remained in contact online. Mahiru is the one person with whom Kiui feels she can be truly honest, making her eventual discovery of Kiui's real situation a devastating betrayal. When Mahiru finds out Kiui has been lying about being a successful student council president and is actually a recluse, a humiliated and angry Kiui cuts ties with her. This fallout is a key turning point in her development, leading to an eventual public reconciliation where Kiui finally accepts help and becomes a full, honest member of JELEE. Her friendships with other members, such as Kano and Mei, also help her slowly come out of her shell.

Throughout the story, Kiui's development centers on her journey toward self-acceptance. Initially hiding her true self away from the world, she learns through the encouragement of her friends to confront her insecurities and find comfort in her own identity. Her notable abilities include her expertise in video production, editing, and computer technology, all of which are vital to the group's creative output as the mixer and editor. She also uses her platform as a VTuber to help promote JELEE's activities.
