TV-Series
Description
Akihiko Nirei is a first-year student at Furin High School, enrolled in class 1-1, and stands at 163 centimeters tall. His background is marked by a difficult period in middle school, where he was bullied, used as an errand boy, and subjected to physical violence. He was rescued from this situation by a student from Furin High School, an act of heroism that inspired him to enroll at the school himself, hoping to become someone who could protect others.

In terms of personality, Nirei is generally a cheerful and frank individual who brings energy to his class. He possesses a strong sense of justice and remarkable courage, refusing to run away from danger even when he is terrified. This determination is rooted in his past suffering and his desire to live up to the ideals of the school he admires. However, he is not without fear; when faced with direct physical threats, he becomes visibly stressed and frightened, a consequence of his history of being bullied and his awareness of his own lack of combat skills.

Nirei's primary role within the story is that of an information specialist and emotional support for his classmates. Fully aware that he is not a skilled fighter, he has dedicated himself to gathering intelligence to aid his friends. He carries a small notebook marked "secret," in which he records detailed profiles of people he finds admirable, including their fighting styles, personalities, and relationships. This information makes him an invaluable asset to his team, as he can guide them through the town and provide crucial data on allies and rivals alike. He is the co-class representative for the first year and serves as one of the vice-captains, a position that highlights his strategic importance despite his physical weakness.

His most significant relationship is with his classmate, Haruka Sakura. Nirei initially impresses Sakura not by winning a fight, but by persistently trying to protect a woman from thugs even as he is beaten. This act of courage earns him Sakura's respect and trust. Following this, Nirei pledges to use his knowledge of the town and its people to help Sakura achieve his goal of reaching the top of Furin High School. He also shares a close bond with another classmate, Hayato Suo, who secretly trains Nirei, teaching him basic defensive techniques like how to duck and throw a proper punch.

Throughout the series, Nirei undergoes significant development, gradually becoming more dependable. He moves from being a self-professed burden to a reliable comrade who balances his lack of strength with his intelligence and effort. In a fight against the KEEL gang, he demonstrates his growth by using situational awareness to assist his friends and even employs a technique learned from Suo, known as the "pill bug technique," to successfully trip and defeat an opponent. While he is still not on par with the main fighters of the school, his trajectory shows a clear path of growth, learning to contribute in meaningful ways that do not solely rely on physical power. His notable abilities, therefore, lie not in brute force but in his sharp intellect, keen observational skills, emotional intelligence, and an unyielding spirit that refuses to let his friends face danger alone.
