Description
Eikichi Nebuya is a second-year student at Rakuzan High School and serves as the team's starting center, wearing jersey number eight. He is one of the five players known as the Uncrowned Kings, a group of exceptionally talented players from his generation who were overshadowed by the Generation of Miracles. His own title within this group is Herculean Strength, a nickname that directly reflects his playing style and physical philosophy.

Physically, Nebuya is an imposing figure. He stands at 190 centimeters tall and weighs 94 kilograms, with a dark complexion and a muscular, well-built body that makes him appear older than he is. His head is shaved short with two distinct shaved lines on each side. In his middle school days, he had a noticeably thinner build and bleached blonde-brown hair, a stark contrast to his current powerful frame. His appearance has earned him the nickname muscle gorilla from his teammate Kotaro Hayama, a label he accepts as a compliment.

Nebuya's personality is as upfront and forceful as his physique. He is a self-declared glutton with an enormous appetite, capable of eating quantities comparable to or even exceeding that of Taiga Kagami, and he often overeats before games under the belief that meat directly translates to increased strength. This dedication to food comes with unrefined habits, such as frequent burping that irritates his more proper teammate, Reo Mibuchi. He is blunt, sometimes rude, and tends to dismiss opponents who rely on skill over power. He loves to add the word muscle to his basketball plays, announcing muscle dunks, muscle rebounds, and muscle screen-outs, which are in fact standard moves executed with his maximum force.

At the core of Nebuya's character is a simple, unwavering philosophy: muscles improve everything. He believes that the body is moved by muscles, and as long as one has muscles, everything about their game will improve. This belief is not just for show; it is the guiding principle of his life as an athlete. This philosophy was born from a single defining event in his past, a defeat at the hands of Teppei Kiyoshi during a middle school match. While Kiyoshi complimented his physical ability but suggested he polish his skills to become a better player, Nebuya rejected this advice. Instead of developing techniques, he chose the opposite path, doubling down on strength training to become even buffer, vowing to prove that pure power is a valid and superior path to victory. Despite his macho exterior, he does possess a softer, more compassionate side. He once begged Kiyoshi to substitute out a visibly terrified first-year player, showing concern for an opponent, and has also checked in on his teammate Mibuchi after uncharacteristic mistakes on the court.

In the story, Nebuya is a central figure for Rakuzan during the Winter Cup, serving as the team's powerful anchor in the paint. His primary role is to overpower opposing centers using his strength, control the rebounds, and score from inside passes, particularly from his captain, Seijuro Akashi. His key relationship and primary motivation are with his rival, Teppei Kiyoshi of Seirin High. The final match of the Winter Cup becomes the stage for their long-awaited rematch. Within his own team, he respects Akashi's authority and skill, bickers with the fastidious Mibuchi over his manners, and shares a teasing camaraderie with Hayama.

Nebuya's development is not about learning new techniques but rather a deepening of his existing beliefs. He represents a pure, unfiltered approach to basketball: overwhelming physical force. His abilities are entirely rooted in his exceptional muscle strength. Unlike other Uncrowned Kings with signature moves, Nebuya relies on raw power for post moves, dunking, and rebounding. His strength is such that he can overpower larger players like Taisuke Otsubo and his rival Kiyoshi. The secret to his power is not just brute force but his technique of dropping his hips and using his arms to box out opponents, making him feel like a boulder. His power is so immense that a dunk from him almost brings down the entire backboard, a feat that even surprises the Generation of Miracles' giant center, Atsushi Murasakibara. When Akashi pushes his teammates into a near-Zone state, Nebuya's already formidable power becomes even more devastating, allowing him to play at an even higher level.
