TV-Series
Description
Coco is a central figure in the narrative, originating from the magical Palmier Kingdom as a fairy and a candidate for its throne. His true form is that of a small, cream-colored creature with large ears and blue eyes, resembling a cross between a puppy and a fennec fox, and he has a distinctive habit of ending his sentences with "coco". To operate within the human world, he possesses the ability to assume the handsome, tall, and brown-haired human identity of Koji Kokoda, under which he works as a teacher at the L’École des Cinq Lumières academy.

In terms of personality, Coco is fundamentally bright, sincere, and kind-hearted, but his character also carries a notable depth born from responsibility and past failures. While his human form presents a calm and wise demeanor, his fairy form is more energetic and prone to childlike complaints. He has a strong, almost self-sacrificing tendency to prioritize others' well-being, a trait that has been known to worry his closest companions. Despite his position as a teacher, he is not infallible, occasionally making mistakes with kanji, and he possesses a famously low tolerance for alcohol, becoming rowdy after just one sip. His favorite food is cream puffs, a taste he developed after being given one by Nozomi Yumehara when he was hungry.

Coco's primary motivation throughout the story is the restoration of his homeland, the Palmier Kingdom, which was devastated by the villainous organization Nightmare. He initially sought the Dream Collet, a magical item, for this purpose. As he matures and eventually assumes the throne, his motivation expands to balancing the immense duties of a king with his personal desires and relationships. A significant internal conflict for him is his feeling of powerlessness; as a fairy of the Palmier Kingdom, his direct combat ability is very low, and he often laments being unable to fight alongside the Precure warriors who protect him, though he can create protective barriers and bestow powers like the Cure Fleurets upon them.

Within the story of "Power of Hope: Precure Full Bloom," Coco's role is deeply intertwined with the adult life of Nozomi Yumehara, the protagonist. Having developed romantic feelings for Nozomi during their teenage years, their relationship in adulthood is a central focus. One of his key relationships is with Nuts, his fellow prince from Palmier. They were not always close, having experienced a difficult childhood rivalry, but eventually grew into inseparable friends and brothers, often sharing the burden of leadership. He also shares a significant bond with Milk, the fairy maid from their kingdom who later takes the human form of Kurumi Mimino. He often finds himself unable to argue with Kurumi, recognizing her loyalty and strong will.

Throughout the series, Coco undergoes a notable development from a somewhat irresponsible and free-spirited young fairy prince to a king burdened by duty. In his youth, he was a problem child with little interest in studying, a stark contrast to his later image as a teacher. His experiences with Nozomi and the Precures, fighting to protect others, taught him about hope and responsibility. In "Power of Hope: Precure Full Bloom," his development is tested as he is forced to confront the limitations of his power, feeling useless when faced with threats he cannot fight personally and struggling with the emotional distance his royal duties have created between him and Nozomi. This culminates in a vulnerable moment where he confesses his feelings of powerlessness to Nozomi, leading to a reaffirmation of their mutual support as adults. Their relationship ultimately reaches its resolution when they choose to be together, culminating in their marriage.

Regarding his notable abilities, Coco can transform between his fairy and human forms at will, though a strong shock can force him to revert to his original form. He has a unique sensitivity that allows him to sense the energy of hostile forces like Nightmare or the presence of magical Pinkies. While he is not a frontline fighter, he can use his power as a king to empower the Precure, granting them enhanced abilities such as the Cure Fleurets. For defense, he is also capable of generating protective barriers.
