TV-Series
Description
Kazuo Wakashika is a supporting character affiliated with the Kura organization, working within its Wellside division. This group operates the Mizuhanome System, a technology enabling investigators to enter the subconscious minds of serial killers. Wakashika serves as an external analyst, interpreting data drawn from these id wells and applying his findings to active real-world investigations.
He possesses green eyes and spiky, unkempt sandy brown hair, consistently worn with a bright orange hairband. His usual attire includes a black suit worn open over a light sand-brown shirt with the top button undone, a loosely tied black tie, a white belt with a silver buckle, and black shoes. For formal events, such as a funeral, he wore a darker suit with a black belt, a white shirt, and a tie, though he kept his characteristically relaxed approach to styling.
Wakashika exhibits a more laid-back and extroverted personality than his Wellside colleagues, often maintaining a less serious demeanor and appearing to enjoy his work. He frequently makes playful and snarky remarks, even during dangerous situations. Despite this casual exterior, he becomes emotionally invested in the events of the id wells, sometimes cheering for the detective Sakaido or expressing anger on behalf of psychological representations of victims. A slight tendency toward being full-of-himself is present, yet he remains a competent and talented analyst, capable of keeping pace with brilliant detectives—though he sometimes reacts with exasperation when outmaneuvered by Sakaido's superior skills.
He joined the newly established Kura department approximately six months before the main events of the series, becoming a detective on the Wellside team. The character also appears in the manga sequel "ID:INVADED #BRAKE-BROKEN" among the supporting cast.
