Sho Nomura is a young boy separated from his parents due to their work assignment in the Middle East. When conflict erupts in that region, he bonds with Katta-kun, a pelican living in Tokiwa Park. Fueled by worry for his parents' safety, Sho and Katta-kun undertake a journey to the Middle East to find them and help end the war. As the central human protagonist, Sho's quest to reunite with his family drives the adventure.
