Description
Lala Hagoromo is a humanoid alien from the planet Saman and one of the five main heroines who originally appeared in the Star Twinkle Precure series, later participating in the crossover film Eiga Precure All Stars F. She is known by her alter ego Cure Milky, the Pretty Cure of the Milky Way. Lala has a reserved and serious demeanor, shaped by the expectation on her home world that thirteen years of age marks adulthood. This early burden of responsibility makes her highly disciplined and diligent, but also prone to feeling pressure when she falls short of her own standards. She is curious about human customs and approaches new experiences with caution, often analyzing situations before acting. Despite her outward composure, she can be headstrong when she believes she must prove herself, and she sometimes makes mistakes due to her eagerness to handle tasks independently. Over time, she learns to relax and embrace her youth, thanks to the influence of her friends.
Lala’s motivation throughout the story is rooted in a strong sense of duty. She initially serves as a Level 8 space‑debris investigator on Saman, but her mission changes when she encounters the fairy Fuwa and the creature Prunce while they are fleeing the Notraiders, the antagonists who attacked the Star Palace. She agrees to help them escape and recover the scattered Princess Star Color Pens, ultimately becoming a Pretty Cure to protect the universe from darkness. Her role is that of a steadfast and analytical member of the team, often grounding the more impulsive actions of her teammates while still contributing her steady courage in battle.
Key relationships in Lala’s life include Hikaru Hoshina, Cure Star, with whom she initially clashes due to their contrasting personalities—Lala’s methodical nature versus Hikaru’s playful enthusiasm. Over time they balance each other, with Hikaru helping Lala lighten up and Lala helping Hikaru stay focused. She also grows close to Elena Amamiya and Madoka Kaguya, the other human teammates, and forms a special bond with Yuni, another alien who also lacks experience with Earth’s culture; Lala encourages Yuni to try new things. Lala maintains ties to her old companion Prunce and relies on Fuwa’s critical powers. In All Stars F, she appears alongside many other Pretty Cure as part of the collective effort to reunite after a catastrophic event, working together with both familiar and unfamiliar allies.
Lala’s development traces a journey from a youth forced into adult expectations to a person who accepts help and allows herself to enjoy being a kid. Her determination remains constant, but she grows more open to relying on her friends and admitting her own limitations.
In terms of notable abilities, Lala possesses small antennae on her head that can amplify electrical conductivity. Her primary attack, Precure Milky Shock, harnesses this power to deliver a powerful electrical shock to enemies. She can modify this technique using certain Princess Star Color Pens, which grant her different elemental effects. In her civilian form, she is skilled in operating complex machinery and piloting spacecraft. As Cure Milky, her transformed appearance features a galaxy‑themed outfit and enhanced antennae shaped like stars, reflecting her connection to the Milky Way.
