TV Special
Description
Lemon Giboshi is the younger sister of Matoi Giboshi and a member of the Giboshi family, which operates the renowned sushi restaurant Super Kanda Sushi. She is a young kindergartener with a remarkable intellect and a highly developed palate, often serving as the primary food taster for the family business. Her extraordinary sense of taste, sometimes referred to as a divine tongue, allows her to analyze ingredients and judge the quality of dishes with precision, earning her recognition and respect within the culinary industry even at a very young age.

In terms of personality, Lemon initially presents a reserved and somewhat stoic demeanor, rarely displaying strong emotions. However, her interactions with Kankichi Ryotsu, a distant relative and police officer, gradually bring out a warmer and more expressive side. She develops a deep fondness and trust in Ryotsu, viewing him as a figure of stability and kindness. Her motivations are driven by a desire to protect and uphold the quality of her family's traditions, as well as a growing loyalty to those she cares about. Despite her youth, she speaks in an old-fashioned manner, often using language reminiscent of an elderly person, and has a strong interest in traditional Japanese culture, including shogi, historical dramas, and classical literature.

Lemon's role in the story is notably amplified in the anime special Kochikame THE FINAL: Ryōtsu Kankichi Saigo no Hi, where her appearance becomes central to the plot. In this story, a visiting princess from the fictional Attakaino Kingdom, named Sabrina, bears an exact physical resemblance to Lemon. Due to this striking similarity, Lemon is kidnapped in place of the princess by a group of criminals. Her abduction sets off a chain of events that draws Ryotsu and the other characters into a rescue mission. Throughout the ordeal, Lemon maintains her composure and demonstrates resilience, ultimately being saved through the combined efforts of Ryotsu and other allies.

Key relationships in her life include her sister Matoi, her grandmother Geparuto Giboshi, and her extended family. However, her bond with Ryotsu is the most defining. She regards him with sincere affection and admiration, and he in turn treats her with extraordinary care and protectiveness, often going to great lengths to ensure her safety and happiness. Over the course of the series, Lemon undergoes noticeable development, transitioning from an emotionally guarded child into a more open and trusting individual. Her experiences, particularly the events of the special, reinforce her courage and her willingness to rely on others.

Notable abilities beyond her refined taste include a high level of skill in shogi, calligraphy, and even writing, as she composes a historical novel that achieves commercial success under Ryotsu's name. Her intelligence and maturity often allow her to act as a voice of reason, and she frequently offers sharp observations about the people around her. Despite her young age, she displays a strong will and a sense of responsibility that belies her years.
