OVA
Description
Jet Link, designated Cyborg 002, is a supporting character in the OVA crossover film Cyborg 009 Vs. Devilman. He originates from the Upper West Side of New York City, where he was a member of a street gang before his abduction. While fleeing from the police, he was offered a ride by a stranger who turned out to be an agent of the Black Ghost organization, which then captured and forcibly transformed him into the second prototype of their 00 Cyborg series. This traumatic origin left him with a deep-seated hatred for Black Ghost, fueling his determination to destroy the organization.

In terms of appearance, Jet has a tall, athletic build with fair skin, sharp blue eyes, and long, bright red-orange hair that is perpetually windswept. His most distinctive and iconic physical trait is his large, pointy, aquiline nose. He wears a red double-breasted military-style uniform with a high collar, padded shoulders, four large gold buttons, and a long bright yellow scarf. Uniquely among his teammates, he sports two gun holsters around his waist, allowing him to dual-wield his signature Super Guns.

Jet's personality is defined by his brash, impulsive, and quick-tempered nature. He is prone to sarcasm and cynicism, openly stating his opinions without concern for whether others wish to hear them. He is described as the type of person who is quick to confront danger and take battle into his own hands. Despite this rebellious and stubborn exterior, he possesses a friendly, laid-back, and loyal core. He functions as an older brother figure within the team, even if he sometimes butts heads with the leader, Cyborg 009, over tactical decisions. Outside of battle, he exhibits a more relaxed and playful attitude, such as when he is seen casually tossing a football with his comrade Pyunma.

Within the narrative of Cyborg 009 Vs. Devilman, Jet plays the role of aerial attack, rescue, and surveillance. When the team detects a demonic presence in Tokyo, he splits up with other cyborgs to investigate. During this mission, he reunites with teammates Albert Heinrich (004) and Pyunma (008) to confront a group of advanced enemy combatants known as the High-Teen Number Cyborgs. Although the three are outmatched, the encounter provides vital intelligence. Later, as the team's flying ship, the Dolphin, comes under attack by the demon Lilith, Jet is briefly ensnared by an illusion showing a woman from his past. However, with help, he breaks free and uses his marksmanship to shoot down multiple demonic slaves. In the final battle against the High-Teen cyborgs, he demonstrates his loyalty and combat prowess by using his speed to tackle the powerful enemy Edward, preventing him from interfering with Cyborg 009.

Regarding character development, the OVA crossover does not provide significant new arcs for Jet, as it assumes familiarity with the existing Cyborg 009 mythos. However, his key relationships are consistent with the larger franchise. He is fiercely loyal to Dr. Gilmore, the team's creator and father figure, as well as to his fellow cyborgs, whom he considers family. His interactions with the group show a particular protectiveness and camaraderie, reinforcing his role as a reliable, if headstrong, ally.

Jet Link's notable abilities are centered on high-speed aerial combat. His body has been altered to withstand supersonic speeds, granting him cybernetic flight capability. Using jet propulsion enhancements in his legs and feet, he can fly at speeds up to Mach 5, though his range is limited by his internal rocket fuel supply. He also possesses a Prototype Accelerator, an early version of Black Ghost's acceleration technology. While not as fast or long-lasting as the version used by Cyborg 009, it provides a temporary burst of incredible speed that he can use in conjunction with his flight to outmaneuver opponents. Finally, his background as a former gang member has made him a highly proficient marksman, and he is notably skilled at dual-wielding his Super Guns in combat.
