Description
Elder is a character from the anime PreCure Max Heart. He resides in the Garden of Light, where he serves as a wise sage and attendant to the Queen. His role is defined by his deep knowledge of the Garden of Light's history and his duty to protect it alongside the Queen. He is a short, elderly man with a long white beard and thick eyebrows that often cover his eyes, and he typically wears simple grey robes and a hat, carrying a wooden staff.

In terms of personality, Elder is a figure of great wisdom, yet he has a notable and endearing flaw: he is quite forgetful. This is most prominently displayed in his interactions with the main heroines, Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro, whom he consistently calls by incorrect names, such as Keiko and Yoshiko. He also playfully mispronounces the title of the heroines, calling them "Purikura," a reference to Purikura sticker photo booths. Despite this absent-mindedness, he is a reliable and caring figure who frequently communicates with the Queen and is dedicated to guiding the Precures.

Elder's primary motivation is the protection of the Garden of Light and the successful revival of the Queen. His background involves safeguarding the seven Prism Stones, the source of the Garden's power and the Queen's life force. When the villain Dotsu Kuzon stole five of the stones, Elder entrusted the remaining two to the fairy partners Mepple and Mipple and sent them to the Rainbow Garden, setting the events of the original series in motion.

In the story of PreCure Max Heart, Elder plays a supportive role. He often communicates with the Precures through the small fairy Pollun, explaining the situation in the Garden of Light and offering guidance. When a critical incident affects the Prism Stones, Elder travels to the human world and briefly stays in Nagisa's room. His presence there creates comic situations, forming an odd-couple dynamic with the Guardian, another character from the Garden of Light. He eventually returns to his own world after the true nature of the new heroine, Hikari Kujo, is revealed.

Key relationships define his role. He is deeply loyal to the Queen and is often seen at her side. He acts as a mentor and information source for Nagisa and Honoka, and his comic interplay with the stone Guardian provides moments of levity. His development throughout the series is subtle, as he remains a constant, wise, and sometimes humorous anchor for the heroines, rather than undergoing a personal transformation. While he possesses vast historical knowledge and magical awareness, his notable abilities are not combat-oriented; his strength lies in his wisdom, his connection to the Queen, and his guidance of the Pretty Cures.
