TV-Series
Description
Inari One is a student at Tracen Academy and a central rival figure in the narrative of Cinderella Gray. Of small stature at 139 centimeters, she possesses a fierce and indomitable spirit, a stark departure from the cuter, rounder depiction found in other media within the same franchise. In the manga, her appearance is far more intense, characterized by sharp, vertical pupils and an aura often visualized as flames, cementing her identity as a fiery, fox-like competitor from the Oi racecourse.

Her background is rooted in the traditional neighborhoods of Tokyo, where she was raised with a strong sense of local pride and a boisterous, straightforward personality. She speaks with a marked downtown Tokyo dialect, refers to herself as an "Edo Uma," and carries herself with the brash confidence of a self-proclaimed "ultimate weapon" from the local circuit. Despite her diminutive size, she possesses seemingly infinite power and stamina, and her strength was so unparalleled in her local series that she earned the nickname "Downtown Superstar". Her motivations shift dramatically after witnessing the feats of Oguri Cap and Super Creek, which ignite a burning desire to leave her local circuit and challenge the nation's best at the central Tracen Academy.

Inari One's personality is a volatile mix of fiery arrogance, fierce determination, and raw emotional honesty. She is hot-blooded and impetuous, often letting her temper get the better of her, which can manifest in violent outbursts or reckless training sessions when she feels she has underperformed. She harbors a deep-seated hatred for underhanded tricks and flattery, preferring direct, head-on competition. Her confidence is immense, yet it masks a more complex interiority, as she is not immune to feelings of inferiority and frustration, particularly when struggling against rivals who seem to possess an unattainable talent. This internal conflict becomes a key driver of her development, forcing her to confront her own limitations and search for a new reason to run beyond just proving she is the best.

Her role in the story is that of a major rival to Oguri Cap, forming one-third of the trio known as the "Eisei Strongest Three" alongside Oguri and Super Creek. Inari’s journey mirrors Oguri's own rise from a local champion to a national contender, creating a natural and deeply personal rivalry. She explicitly declares her intention to come to the center to "jump over" Oguri, viewing the so-called "monster" as the ultimate obstacle she must conquer. Her rivalry with Super Creek is similarly intense, though it is often tinged with frustration at Creek's obsessive strategic mindset. She also shares a turbulent but friendly rivalry with Tamamo Cross, where their arguments sharply highlight the cultural differences between Edo and Osaka, though mutual respect ultimately underpins their dynamic. Her key relationships include her trainer, Ryuko Yusuhara, who serves as a grounding influence capable of restoring her focus, and her roommate, Twin Turbo, whom she often acts protectively towards. The legendary Mr. C.B. also acts as a mentor figure, appearing at a low point to remind Inari that she must be the protagonist of her own story, a moment of guidance that helps her break free from her slump.

Over the course of the story, Inari One undergoes significant development. She begins as a regional powerhouse, undefeated in her local circuit, and her first major step is winning the Tokyo Grand Prize match to earn her place at the center. Her early days at Tracen Academy are marked by a winning streak, including a commanding victory in the Emperor's Award (Spring). However, her brash nature is tempered by a series of harsh lessons. Her first major defeat at the hands of Oguri Cap, by a mere step, sends her into a rage, shattering her invincible self-image. She subsequently suffers a crushing loss in the Tenno Sho (Autumn), where she fails to enter her focused "zone," followed by a middling performance in the Japan Cup. These failures lead to a deep slump and an inferiority complex, causing her to question her purpose. The turning point comes after a strange and profound encounter with Mr. C.B., who helps her realize that she needs no external reason to compete; her own will to be the main character is enough. This revelation allows her to fully master her "zone," visualized as a giant foxfire, and she finally achieves a crowning victory by winning the Arima Kinen, defeating her chief rivals in the process.

Her abilities on the track are formidable. Inari One's greatest weapons are her explosive energy, immense stamina, and incredible versatility, allowing her to compete effectively on both turf and dirt tracks over distances ranging from a mile to longer trips. Her signature racing style is defined by her ability to enter a heightened state of focus known as the "zone," which is visually represented by a flame fox aura or foxfire that emanates from her as she runs. In this state, she is capable of producing devastating finishing sprints to chase down her rivals. Her ultimate technique is referred to as "Guhwa Calling," a near-mystical state that fully awakens her latent potential and allows her to keep pace with the nation's best.
