Description
Pegutan, also romanized as Pegitan, is a penguin-like Healing Animal who appears as a supporting character in the anime film Eiga Precure Miracle Leap: Minna to Fushigi na 1-nichi. He is one of the animal companions of the Healin' Good Precure group, traveling alongside Rabirin, Nyatoran, and Latte.

His background is tied to his role as a partner to Chiyu Sawaizumi, one of the three main Precure of his group. In the film, the Healing Animals open a box of donuts and are unexpectedly transported to a deserted park, where they encounter Miraclun, the spirit who governs tomorrow, and are caught up in a chase involving Refrain, the spirit of yesterday. After that first encounter, Pegutan and the others wake up holding Miraclun Lights, though none of them can recall how the lights came into their possession. When Refrain rewinds time and traps the town in an endless repeating Saturday, Pegutan remains with the Precure and their allies as they work together to protect Miraclun and reach the next day.

In terms of personality, Pegutan is shy and timid, and he is modest by nature. He has an eye for excellence, meaning he notices quality and holds himself to a high standard without drawing attention to it. His attitude can be described as a willingness to do what needs to be done; he may hesitate at first, but he steps up when the situation requires it. A notable personal trait is his deep fondness for hot springs, which he genuinely enjoys.

Pegutan's strongest relationship is with Chiyu Sawaizumi. The two support each other in a mutual bond, with Pegutan offering loyalty and quiet encouragement while Chiyu gives him reassurance in return. He also shares close daily life with the other Healing Animals and works alongside the full group of Precure during the film's crisis. His motivation is rooted in this sense of companionship: he wants to protect his friends and help the Cures restore the flow of time so that everyone can move forward together.

His development in the film is subtle. As a supporting companion, he does not carry a personal arc of his own, but his presence reinforces the film's theme of relying on one another. Despite his timid nature, he takes part in the group's efforts and adds to their shared resolve.

In terms of notable abilities, Pegutan acts as a companion partner to the Cure he is connected with, supporting her actions and lending encouragement. His role in the film is primarily supportive rather than that of a frontline fighter, and his importance lies in the steadiness and warmth he brings to the group as they face the repeating day.
