Description
Dokin-chan is a major character in the Soreike! Anpanman franchise and appears in the film Roboly to Pokapoka Present. She is an orange-red germ who serves as the secondary antagonist. Her design includes green eyes, small red cheeks, a white face with a distinct orange stripe leading to her nose, a single antenna, a long tail, pink footwear, and white hands. She is often boastful, considering herself the cutest individual in the world.
Her personality is a mix of selfishness, greed, and childish demands. She frequently bosses around her partner, the primary antagonist Baikinman, ordering him to fetch food, objects, or even capture people. In fights or dangerous situations, she is often the first to flee when defeat seems imminent. However, she is not purely malicious and does show occasional moments of kindness. The most prominent example of this is her intense romantic obsession with the hero Shokupanman, for whom she harbors a deep and unwavering affection. Her living space is filled with posters and plush toys of him, and she frequently daydreams about him. This infatuation often overrides her usual selfish behavior, as she will actively prevent Baikinman from harming Shokupanman during their schemes.
As Baikinman's partner, her motivation is rarely aligned with his grander, more destructive plans. Instead, she is primarily driven by personal satisfaction and her romantic aspirations. Her role in the narrative usually involves supporting Baikinman's latest plot, but her genuine care for Shokupanman creates a unique dynamic that often complicates the villains' efforts. This relationship is central to her character, leading her to devise elaborate traps or schemes to gain his attention or affection, which typically fail in humorous ways. Beyond Baikinman, she has a key relationship with her younger sister, Kokin-chan. The two share a sibling bond marked by rivalry, as Kokin-chan also has a crush on Shokupanman, but they also display moments of camaraderie.
Regarding notable abilities and equipment, Dokin-chan was once depicted using a dual-pointed staff that could enlarge objects with one end and shrink them with the other, though this tool was used infrequently and eventually phased out from the series. Her primary mode of transportation is a long, pink UFO with yellow-tipped hands. She typically uses this vehicle for non-combat activities, such as carrying baskets or flowers, though she has also used it to hold hostages at Baikinman's request.
