Description
Matoi Fukagawa is an apprentice fireworks artist from Edo, a district known for its traditional atmosphere. She was raised by her grandfather, who was also her master in the craft of fireworks. After witnessing the beauty of his flames at a festival, Matoi resolved to follow in his footsteps and become a skilled fireworks artisan. Her grandfather eventually passed away, and she now trains every day to surpass his legacy.

Matoi has a straightforward and friendly demeanor, but she does not hesitate to resort to physical force when necessary. She carries a tube from which she launches colorful fireworks that serve both as dazzling displays and as practical tools in battle. In combat, she can deploy an automated turret that fires at enemies within range, and her fire-based attacks deal increased damage. Her festive spirit matches her love for celebrations, and she thrives in lively environments.

In the story, Matoi is a supporting character who participates in the battles that define the world of #COMPASS2.0. Her role as a fireworks artist ties into her combative style, combining artistry with effectiveness. A fox plushie named Kontaro sits in the back of her school costume, a detail that hints at a playful side and a previous romantic ruse to acquire it. Her relationship with her grandfather is the deepest emotional anchor in her life, driving her dedication to her craft. Beyond that, her development largely centers on her commitment to improving her skills and honoring her predecessor’s memory.
