Description
Elisabeth, known as the Blood Queen, is a central figure in the second season's Lawless City arc. She is one of the progenitors of vampires, an ancient being estimated to be over a thousand years old, and is the ruler of the Crimson Tower. Her history stretches back to a time when vampires dominated the night and treated humans as livestock. Unlike many of her kind, Elisabeth pursued a path of coexistence, only taking enough blood from humans to survive and creating a sanctuary where both species could live together. Her peaceful reign ended due to the schemes of a subordinate named Crimson, who triggered a rampage by feeding her human blood during an event known as the Red Moon, a phenomenon that drives vampires into an uncontrollable frenzy. In this state, she caused catastrophic destruction across three countries in just three days. Upon regaining her senses and overwhelmed with guilt, she attempted to end her own life by stabbing her heart, but the wound was not fatal, and she fell into a death-like slumber for a millennium.

In the present day, Elisabeth is reawakened by Crimson, who uses human sacrifices to revive her with the goal of using her destructive power for his own ends. When she first appears, she is in a savage, grief-stricken state, driven by the insatiable bloodthirst caused by the Red Moon. Her personality, buried beneath this curse, is that of a tragic figure who once desired peace but was betrayed into becoming an instrument of devastation. Her primary motivation throughout the story arc is not power or conquest, but rather an end to her suffering. She seeks either to succumb to her blood rage or to find a final, permanent release from it. Her role in the story is that of an immensely powerful antagonist who is more a victim of circumstance than a true villain. The heroes are not simply trying to defeat her but to stop her rampage and free her from her torment.

Key relationships define her narrative. Her most significant connection is with Mary, a vampire hunter and her former friend. Mary’s desperate quest to save Elisabeth from herself provides the emotional core of the arc. The other is with Crimson, the treacherous subordinate whose machinations caused her original downfall and current resurrection, making him the arc's true villain. Finally, her encounter with Shadow, the protagonist, serves as the resolution to her conflict. He confronts her at the peak of her power and calms her blood rage not with a final, killing blow, but with a unique technique called I Am Recovery Atomic, which neutralizes her失控状态.

Following this, Elisabeth undergoes a significant change. Freed from her uncontrollable bloodlust, she regains her original gentle nature. She chooses not to remain in her former domain but instead to travel the world with Mary, searching for a true place of rest. In a minor but telling cameo, she is later seen enjoying a peaceful, ordinary day at a hot springs resort, demonstrating her successful transition from a tragic monster to a being capable of experiencing tranquility. Her development is a tragic fall from grace followed by a hard-won redemption.

In terms of abilities, Elisabeth is a vampire progenitor of immense power. Her primary trait is blood manipulation, allowing her to absorb the blood of others from a distance to enhance her own strength, an ability that becomes dramatically more potent under the light of the Red Moon. During this phenomenon, her magical power is seemingly limitless, and she can unleash devastating area-of-effect attacks. Her power is said to be sufficient to destroy entire nations, as she did in her original rampage. In combat, she can combine her blood with magic to produce powerful explosions. Even without the Red Moon, her physical strength, speed, and durability are far beyond that of ordinary vampires and most other beings, classifying her as one of the most formidable entities in her world.
