Description
Victoria, also known as Numero 559, is a supporting character introduced in the second season of The Eminence in Shadow. She is a female elf who serves as a high-ranking member of Shadow Garden's main force, carrying the designation 559, which marks her as the 559th agent recruited into the organization. Before joining Shadow Garden, she lived a very different life as the Saint of the Holy Teaching religion, where she led the Templars, a powerful and zealous group of warriors responsible for hunting down and executing those believed to be possessed by demons. In that role, she was a devout and pious leader who genuinely cared for her subordinates.
Her life changed drastically when she fell victim to demonic possession and was betrayed by people she had once relied upon. The experience shattered her former personality, and the kind and caring nature she had shown as the Saint gave way to a cold, intimidating, and at times ruthless demeanor. She was ultimately excommunicated from the church, and her former identity as a holy figure was left behind entirely.
Victoria was saved from her possession by Shadow himself, who cured her directly during one of his excursions outside Shadow Garden. This makes her one of the very few individuals outside the original Seven Shadows to have been personally healed and empowered by him, a distinction that defines her place in the organization. Her loyalty to Shadow is intense and fanatical, and she regards him as her true god and savior. In most situations, she appears stoic and almost lifeless in expression, but that composure disappears completely in Shadow's presence, replaced by devoted and enthusiastic reverence. She also sees herself as different from most other Shadow Garden members because of the direct power she received from him.
In terms of combat ability, Victoria is exceptionally strong. When she and Alpha first met, Victoria rivaled Alpha in strength, and her current abilities are rumored to be on a level comparable to the Seven Shadows themselves. She is one of only two people besides the founding members to have received their powers directly from Shadow, and she fights with a fierce and at times sadistic intensity. Her role in the story is that of a formidable and deeply devoted operative of Shadow Garden, serving as Zeta's right hand and a member of Zeta's secret sub-faction, which gives her a position of significant trust and influence within the organization. While her devotion is focused almost entirely on Shadow, she retains a respect for the Seven Shadows.
