Description
Lana the Moon Tempest is an intelligence operative serving the New Principality of Lithia. She was previously a member of the Obsidian Eyes, an organization whose nature is not elaborated in available information, before becoming an agent for Lithia. She is described as petite in stature. She operates under the direct orders of Taren the Punished, the ruler of the New Principality, and her primary mission is to travel beyond Lithia’s territory to locate and recruit exceptionally powerful warriors who can fight for the principality’s cause. Through her recruitment efforts, she successfully brought in notable mercenaries including Shalk the Sound Slicer, a skeletal swordsman, and Higuare the Pelagic, a mandrake gladiator turned mercenary. She also investigated rumors of a powerful mage known as the World Word but concluded those reports were mythical, though the mage Kia the World Word does exist elsewhere.

Her personality is marked by pragmatism and discipline. She dislikes loose talk and unnecessary risks, emphasizing careful operational security in all her missions. She is an experienced and dedicated agent who has accomplished many assignments without failure, yet her extensive experience does not make her invulnerable; she still has a breaking point when pushed beyond her limits. She remains unfazed when dealing with volatile individuals such as Nihilo the Vortical Stampede, a sign of her seasoned composure. Her work includes infiltrating deep into enemy territory—specifically the nation of Aureatia—to gather intelligence and monitor powerful shuras, the demi-god-like beings that populate the world, to ensure they align with Lithia’s strategic interests.

Her role in the story is that of a supporting operative for Lithia’s rebellion against Aureatia. She functions as a spy and recruiter, working behind the scenes rather than engaging in direct combat. Her key relationship is with Taren the Punished, her superior, to whom she is fiercely loyal. She also has professional interactions with the mercenaries she recruits, such as Shalk and Higuare, and with dangerous shuras she must assess or monitor. Her development is hinted at by the fact that even an experienced agent can reach a breaking point, suggesting that her role may test her limits as the conflict escalates. Her notable abilities center on espionage, infiltration, intelligence gathering, and the strategic assessment of potential threats or allies, rather than supernatural combat powers. She is considered a master spy and is part of Lithia’s Shadows, an elite intelligence unit focused on subterfuge.
