Description
Dird Shank, a member of the Shank Pirate Guild and distant relative of the cruel pirate Tarant Shank (whom her family branch avoided), became orphaned young. Her great-great-great-great uncle, a technician, primarily raised her within the nomadic guild. This unstable, neglectful upbringing fostered a deep craving for acceptance and family bonds. Before her assignment to Banjo Island (Tabletop Island), she had no experience with natural environments, vegetation, weather cycles, or terrestrial wildlife.
The Shank Guild sent Dird, though only 1,882nd in succession, as their representative in a galactic proxy war to decide leadership for a new pirate nation, capitalizing on her exceptional natural combat abilities. Despite her feral, instinctive fighting intensity surpassing typical Juraian warriors, her personality is cheerful, energetic, and occasionally mischievous, often acting as her group's mood-maker. This demeanor masks deeper insecurities from her isolated childhood. In the proxy war, she utilized a Guardian suit with specialized gauntlets and anklets enhancing her punching and kicking.
On Banjo Island, Dird formed close bonds with fellow representatives Alea Balta, Apuesta Daluma, Palty Jurai (whom she affectionately called "Princess"), and the accidentally arrived human Shou Kukoma. She adapted to terrestrial life while participating in simulated combat scenarios that doubled as training for Kenshi Masaki's Geminar mission, exposing her to diverse habitats and tactics. After the proxy war, she helped defend the island-turned-spaceship against a larger pirate fleet, employing non-lethal tactics to imprison attackers.
Choosing permanence on Banjo Island with others seeking stability, Dird remained after Washu engineered a solution separating the landmass from its ship components for settlement. Future plans involved Dird, alongside Shou Kukoma, Miron Pham, and possibly other pirate representatives, studying at the Galaxy Academy to prepare for leadership roles. They would return to govern Banjo Island as the seat of the new Pirate Nation, maintaining secrecy from Earth's formal governments.
