OVA
Description
Iroha Isshiki is a first-year student at Sobu High School who becomes an increasingly prominent figure as the story progresses. She initially serves as the manager for the school's soccer club and later unexpectedly assumes the role of student council president, a position rarely held by a first-year student. Iroha has a cute and fashionable appearance, with shoulder-length, khaki-colored hair that is noted to be a natural trait, and she often wears a light pink cardigan over her school uniform.

On the surface, Iroha projects the image of an innocent, air-headed, and slightly clumsy girl, a persona she carefully maintains to appear charming and likable to those around her. However, this is a calculated facade. In reality, she is highly intelligent, shrewd, and possesses a keen understanding of social dynamics, which she uses to her advantage. The protagonist, Hachiman Hikigaya, is one of the few people who sees through her act from the beginning, describing her as a "thoroughly calculating realist". He compares her to several other characters, calling her a "less cute version of his sister Komachi," a "superior version of Minami Sagami," and a "fake Meguri Shiromeguri". Hachiman ultimately deems her "the second most rotten person in the world," with himself being the first, highlighting their deep-seated similarities.

Despite her cunning exterior, Iroha's true personality is more complex. She lacks self-confidence, which becomes evident when she is thrust into leadership roles. Her initial motivation for seeking the Service Club's help is not to win the student council election but to avoid losing in a humiliating way, as her classmates had nominated her as a joke. This desire to protect her public image is a key driver of her actions. Although she claims to not have many close friends among her grade, she forms a strong attachment to the older members of the Service Club.

Throughout the series, Iroha's role evolves from a client of the Service Club to a recurring ally and a key figure in the story's later events. She is a catalyst for some of the main conflicts, most notably the student council election arc, where Hachiman's unorthodox methods to help her lead to a rift within the Service Club. After being persuaded by Hachiman to genuinely seek the presidency, she is elected and grows into the role, taking on significant responsibilities such as organizing a joint Christmas event with another school and later a graduation prom. Her involvement in planning the prom is a central focus of the final season, known as Climax.

Her most significant relationship is with Hachiman Hikigaya, the only person she calls "senpai". With him, she often drops her pretentious act and shows her more honest, sometimes sulky, self. Hachiman is one of the few people who challenges her and whom she respects, and their interactions are characterized by a unique candidness and mutual understanding. While she harbors a genuine crush on the popular and handsome Hayato Hayama, her feelings are mostly unrequited, and her relationship with Hachiman develops into a much deeper and more authentic bond. She also becomes a regular visitor to the Service Club, developing friendly relationships with Yui Yuigahama and Yukino Yukinoshita.

Iroha demonstrates notable growth over the course of the story. Initially motivated by self-preservation and a desire to maintain a cute facade, she gradually becomes more sincere and selfless. She learns to take her duties seriously and gains confidence as a leader, moving from reluctantly accepting the presidency to actively working to make events successful. She even experiences a turning point after a failed forced confession to Hayama, which prompts her to reconsider how she connects with others. Her development shows her moving beyond superficial social climbing to seek something more genuine.

Apart from her social cunning, Iroha has several practical abilities. She is a skilled baker, known for making excellent cookies and cakes. She is proficient in the art of persuasion, getting what she wants through charm and clever maneuvering. As the soccer club manager and later student council president, she also possesses decent organizational and management skills, which she continues to hone as her confidence grows.
